unfortunately back at school now...it'll have to wait until half term (like 5/6 weeks away).

Xen0: I did exaclty as you said with the cross bar - it now works (dare i say it) perfectly when going forwards, although reversing is a bit dodgy. however it sits too high (wheels are tipping inwards), so need to adjust the length of the front bar to compensate.

no pics at the moment; forgot!
When I have time, I'll hunt out some lego, and see what I can do.
It's all packed up in the back of thegarage; much like hl2, I picked it up (albeit with an engine hoist) and turned it 90 degrees, and put it SIDEWAYS in the garage - the corsa just fits in :D.

the next big challenge is the gearshift. there's a small lever that can be twisted/pulled/pushed to shift from 3-4/1-2/R (naturally at 3-4), but is now at the back of the buggy; going under is difficult 'cause of the sump, sides are easiest, but how to connect??
    Any ideas?

Thanks for the input everyone, been a good audience :D

    bah no pics... :(

For a gearing solution you could use cables, mk1 MR2 has cables and a gear linkage that should do the job depending on the length of cableing that you need
