I know this isn't really an up date, but ive been really keen to give the LCD mod a good test and with the spare board /cpu's this was possible. I've dragged HPres1 from retirement, well from under the workbench and put it to good use, so excuse the black silver and purple colour scheme. I was abit worried about disortortion and interferance and also glare! wasn't too if the clear plex would make viewing too hard. Well its all good no interferance and the viewing is better then expected Heres a few piccy's and some instant watercooling thx to some wallpaper trickery Cheers.
This is one amazing mod. is it hard to take an LCD apart and mount it like u are? I imagine it's risky, but still...i wanna do it.
Very Nice. The way you have the button mounted and everything looks so great. I still can't get over how beutiful that paint job either. I might buy and HP if they looked that sweet. Also does it run cooler with that WC'ed wallpaper
Def, you've out-done your self, HP2 is just simply amazing!!!! ANd you said it's not even done!! YOu should send picts to MAximum PC, and try to win Rig of the month with that bad boy!!
looks really nice to be quite honest, i was confused for 10minutes thinking... huh there 2 diffrent cases guess i should read from the start
In keeping with a fully modded PC decided to mod the PSU as well Removed 80mm rear fan Added 120mm bottem fan 2 mesh sides Black paint new loom Also added a new shiny floor pan and finished the front panel tube mod.
thanx guys im just doing somthing i really enjoy doing! I think if i had deadlines and biz restictions on me it might not be as enjoyable. All you guys can do this stuff too! I really don't have any special tools just a bit of experience and an imagination. Fitting a new base plate.
A lot of work went into the bondo side of this mod and its time to put some effort into the rest of it. First was to crack it open and find a suitable place on the PCB board to drill a hole thru it to feed the wire thru. Of course a hole also had to be drilled into the outer casing and a gromet fitted to finish the hole off. Once done the new wire loom can be fed thru, covered in black tech flex and ends heat shrink covered to stop fraying. This idea completly removes the wires from the back of the unit and feeds them down the bottem underside. And will keep a clean appearence on the inside of the case. Now that the wires are taken care of the outercase can now have a custom plex outer cut to shape and fitted. This will not only conseal the old unused rear holes but help colour match the unit (as well as the CDROM) to the rest of the project. Satin purple is used for obvious reasons! Last is to re-attach the satin black cover to the chrome HDD-BAY pop in the screw consealers. Last is to feed the new wireloom thru to the outer side where most of the wiring is consealed. Again a wire gromet is used and a chrome RCA jack. This part of the mod is done
well i must say its the little details that makes a mod good and you deffinatlly are coming up with a lot of good ones love the idea of puting the wire out the bottom
this is one of the sweeeeeeeeetest mods i have ever had the honor of watching. thanks for proving WE do it better then they(the premodds) ever could!!!
Thanx guys! if a mod is worth doing i beleive its worth doing well, no half ass attemps. I'm seeing alot of bondo work nowadays, that well erm ...... less said the better. Anyways the weekend is here the sun is shining and im out the back again to mod Update soon............
