I used the same material for my front fans, 3/8" clear plex. I love that stuff and have been incorporating it through out my mod. Didn't think of edge lighting it though Really top-notch job! Really liking your project!

quiky update guys!!

A pc before hp2 and hp1, twas a mildy modded alloy cheiftec,nothing flash, but it did have a modded heat pipe type zally gpu cooler on it,
I'd added some amd cpu fans running off a variable speed bus to help cool the card when i was overclocking.
It worked pretty well for the most part , but is no where near as awsome as some of the newer coolers out now!

Anyways! had an idea to help improve again on its cooling design, i thought that adding a boxed type cowling to duct air more effectivley over the bottem heat sink might add a bit more life to an old mod.


And heres the new perspex duct i made, pretty much just a cut some holes in a small peice of persp. Then bent it the the right shape.
Theres just enuf flex in the unit to clip over the zally!! so it just snaps on and off

 

I'm so pleased I took the time to look at this one as its quality is fantastic. There is a huge amount of interest in this section of the forum. As there are logs like these that push both their skills and the materials they use to the limit. There are however a few project logs that stand out from the crowd, I regard this as one. Keep up the good work

Test painted the panels with Mirage special effect paint! the shots you see here are the color with no clear, so theyr lookin a tad shineless ,

Altho the color looks awsome and changes under different lights and angles
and i loved the metal bronze look ,im not happy with the pinky color that shows on some angles.

HP-RES II is now udergoing a full rub-back and being preped for a good dose of HIGH GLOSS 2-pack paint auto BLACKNESS!
