This is awesome. Where did you get the H2 and what model/brand is it? I would love to try this.

    Ideas:

Tint the windows and use LEDs to light the inside. They take up less space and are cooler. You could get a sound activator even, if you wanted. As for running lights, make part of the cold cathode (if you use cold cathode) shielded, so the light only shines directly down and not out to the sides. That way its the footprint of the H2 thats lit, not the space all around it for 3 feet.

I would also get some custom fan grills made, I know theres a few bit-tech guys who are metal workers, you could use them on the fans in the back and it could be the "sub" box grills or something. I dunno, just a thought. Great work so far!

I think it's a custom kit...consdering the fact that he replaced the rad.

It looks too pre fab to be custom. The body, anyways.

The RC Truck is prefabed it is from New Bright Toys I got mine at Walmart but i think Radio Shack carrys them as well as for the rad and everything else it is custom.

thanks for the ideas on the lighting i am still working it out i am going to put leds in all the running lights and have the tail lights blink with the hardrive.

just waiting on the paint to get done then will get all the lighting done.

should have the CPU for the truck on Tues with any luck had some stuff back ordered thanks to the holidays so is delaying it a little but not to bad.

But got looking and i forgot to post some of the pics of the updates so here they are while we wait for the Painter.

Here is what the project looks like torn apart (Messy Is good means something is happening)

Here Is what the inside of the Hummer under the cab is looking lke I thnk i am out of space here have all the smitches and such here.

Had to move the power plug for the powersupply to the side sorry forgot to take pics of it and once i got it in i was not about to take it all apart again.

also have the switches for the comp and lights here as well.

Here i am trying to get the front back together (Man there is hardly any room left ) going to have to make a trailer if i want anymore stuff on this.

Here is the underside i was going to paint the power supply but decided it looks better this way can show off more this way and no one really sees it anyways.

Here is a fun shot of some of the stickers we have here in the cafe.

Ok that should give you something to look at till the artist finishes the paint job

for now keep modding and Happy New Year

He can just drive it into a valvoline and they'll top it off while he waits. ( 4 the brits - Valvoline is a drive thru oil change / maintenance chain in the states ) :)

Well still waiting on the artists but oh well thats the way artists go i guess and considering the work this guy is doing i am not going to rush him.

But never fear we do have some updates for you i am waiting on the cpu so had to think of something to do and while i was looking at my Keyboard i noticed that the keys are translucent HMMMM

    the Keyboard needs light.

So started with a perfectly good microsoft natural keyboard.

    The victim before the screwdriver.

First lets start by dismantaling the thing see what we can do.

Ok we need to make some more holes to get the light through ok this is not fun have to drill 4 extra holes per key.

ok will mount the lights underneath so that not only will it light the inside it will also under the keyboard.

Here is what it will look like under the keys.

Ok couldn't wait to see how this would turn out so here are a couple of teaser shots to give you an idea.

Ok will update this with the finished shots have to pickup a couple more lights to finish this project.

At first I thought you were gonna add your own custom EL backsheet.

Then I saw that. Nice

Seems rather blinding though, can you still read the keys with the light on?

Dumb question now, what is your battery life with the lights in the keyboard? And how many LED's are you using?

We are going to see what the life for the battery will be i am going to make it external so that i can run it pluged into a wall socket or off a batery pack when i want it wireless.

So will see it is going to actually be 3 cold cathodes underneath the pics show it to be a little brighter then it is.

But if the batery thing doesn't work then i guess it will just have to be pluged into the wall.

If you dont mind could u explain how ur going to get the lighted keyboard power from the wall outlet?! I want to do something similiar but for lighing up some plexi. And i want a constant power source, like a wall socket.

Back on topic...that is one bada$$ Hummer.

SWEEEEEEEET!! i wish my keyboard had translucent keys, i would so hook up some lighting. Do the batteries in the keyboard really provide enough wattage to run looks like maybe 3 ccfl's? or are you adding an extra battery pack?

anyway looks great, are you gunna paint the keyboard?

keep up the work :thumb: :dremel:
