This is one of the best mods I've seen. Maybe not the coolest (yet) but definately the best one!

It means, like we say in dutch "doe het voor de thuisploeg"
only we don't this as an expression.

I've been following projects a long time here, also on tng..
but I just registered here to tell you..

DONT QUIT.. QUITE THE NICEST CASE EVER SEEN!

You are mad , you better get that thing going cause this is
a killer , never seen something like this ( apart from garden houses :hehe: )
I know it is a problem to get to the finish line , it´s the same here but
I do some stuff when I have the time and it is going slow to the finish...
Anyway , if you get a day off , grab that case and work on it the whole day
and I promise you will get the fun modding-feeling back!

Remember: Only one project at the time !!

I don't know something else to say than "you own 2 right hands" :hip: This mod is so perfect going, every detail seems to be perfect. A good inspiration for us, and a good supporting reply for you :D

    Project HYPERCUBE² DAY 19

    26/08/2004 DAY 19

    Custom IDE cable time :)

I bought me some rounded ide cables from coolermaster for the HD's, but when I attached them it really looked horrible (it came in front of the fan, and it was very visible... not what i wanted at all) That meant that I had to make my own custom rounded and hidden IDE cable.

    Here goes....

First thing I made is this ALU profile with 2 10mm holes in it to get some cables trough. You'll see what I'm gonna do with it in the next pictures.

It fits underneath the bottom plexiplate.

I bought me some flat cable (40 pins) and some connectors. Time to start the custom cable :)

the first connector at the end in place.

cut of the leftover piece at the end.

Bend over the cable, and attached the upper connectorbit.

The victim out of its shell. I cut the flat cable in the middle.

I marked it so I know at the end wich sides go togheter.

Attaching the IDE on the HD

the split cable through the two holes.

cutted the wire in 10 so its smaller behind the HD.

Attaching the HD back to the bracket..

Getting the wires through the holes in the bottom plate.

The wires need to go through these tubes. See what I'm getting at.

This was a very difficult step. Its not easy getting 20 wires through a 10 mm tube.

back through the holes to the second HD.

Second HD in place and cables ready to go to the Mobo (I need to get some more tubing tomorrow, I used it all).

I hope you like the idea of the cable. You cant see the connection to the HD at all. :)
I'll post a picture of the connectors next time.
