update This is not a casemod update, but a hardware update. With thanks to XFX i'm now a proud owner of a GF6800 ultra 256MB. Offcourse i installed it direct (so cable's arn't tidy) and it made a score of 5700 in 3dm05, time to OC this baby. Now it's also time to find a good watercooling blok. Does anyone of you have a good suggestion? i found 3: - aquacomputer ( aluminium, i prefer copper ) - danger den ( quite expansive ) - alphacool (cheap and easy to order) Might if one of you know another option... I'm more interested in low price then low temps Actually the real hardware is almost complete, i only want to get some more discspace, a good soundcard (the onboard one realy sucks) and a dvd-rw. Well, here some pics of my new toy. Now it is a nice game machine. But i don't play games very often
It's not a IDE cable, but the ATX power cable... You can see the motherboard ATX connector in the second picture behind the other black cables.... Just to be precise..
Yup. Most important thing for sponsors is approving yourself. After that it's like all other business. I'm thinking about changing the 4 pin motherboard connector and PCI express cable to that style as well.
Well , I´ve just redd the whole logg , i´m IMPRESSED AND SURPRISED! Never thought that someone was gonna take the stacker to that level. Really nice Blue/White combination of LED´s.. it matches perfect to the steel look. About the fanbus... 8mm plexi is enough to engrave... the only problem is to get that small text precise but i´m sure you will work it out. Modd on, want too see this finished !
i'd say get the alphacool block, its cheap, and tis a good copper block starting to look interesting, i like the fact the ATX line is all the same colour, looks individual and different
Thanks first i need the final connection setup for the baybus before i engrave text on the buttons. But there is some delay in the casemod. I've won the 2'nd stage of the coolermaster casemod competition. This means that I'm 1 of the 5 guys witch are in the final. For that final we had to build a new casemod whitin +/- 1,5 month. So that has more priority offcourse, no big updates for the following weeks, Sorry. I agree it's cheap, larger fittings and easy to order. I think it's gonna be that one. The opinions about the ATX cable's are different, some like it, some don't. I like it, only the ATX connector position on the motherboard could be better.
Not a real update, it has been a while ago that i was modding on this case due to the coolermaster casemod contest ( see here ) But i just want to tell you guys there will be new updates coming up within a few weeks. I got some new plan's and some things are still unfinished. Here is a list of mods that will be done: - New way of mounting the 2 casings on top of eachother instead of the plexiglass. Because i used that idea from someone else and that gave some troubles. - Improving the reservoir, due to heavy waterflow the air can't get out. i'm going to enlarge it or ad a sheet acryl in it to divorce the air and water. - Mounting a GPU waterblock. - engrave the baybus buttons. - make the spider complete. - change the ATX 4 pin into the same style as the ATX 24pin cable - finalize the rear air exhaust. - change the flipflop switching circuit from the baybus. I'm having problems that some channels are off when you turn the computer on. I want them all on when i boot the computer. (for example, not all the lights are on when you boot). Maybe they will be switched on 1 by 1 with some time delay to prevent extreme load when switching on the powersupply. Currently I'm doing up some knowledge in programming PIC's so this would be a good way to try my skills. I guess that while i'm modding i will find some more things. But these are things i realy should improve or build. This is going to take quite some time, i think that it will be done in 5 months, the metal spider will take the biggest part of that time.
Nice to see you again. That's stupid. You've done a good mod. Ideas come and gone and always there are, at least 2 ways of make something, and one is already posted in some forum. Unless he has some kind of patend about mounting 2 cases with a plexy layer between, to change it, i think, is worthless and uncecessary. Maybe someone has fear of find a better mod than his and the comparisons. Logically the first person who make a good mod with inovative ideas, has some "courtesy rights" about his ideas that we usually ethically respect while possible, but nothing else, though.
Well, according to the other guy: the other guy told his ideas to _ferry_ and _ferry_ did it before the other guy could have made it. Don't know what's true about it because as far as I know the other guy was the first one to show it. It's not completly clear to me. That other guy is Ediejo, another Dutch casemodder. I think he's beginning to think a bit too great about himself, but sometimes he's nice and helpfull. It isn't really working out anymore between him and some other modders. (especially between him and _ferry_) But forget the story, back to the mod. Great work!
@ferry Don´t attend what other people say. The most important is that the mod is looking good to YOU, and not to anybody else. Keep the plexi and don´t make thoughts about the other (childish)guy. looking forward to see updates... Sub-Zero
The acryl is going to be removed due to the reason Blackcrown told us. I made it before the other guy was able to show it. We talked about it and decided to remove it. I know something better for it so i don't see the problem in removing it and create something witch is my own design and looks much better IMHO. But i prefer not starting that discussion again Keep it on the modding part please
What will it be? (As long it isn't meshX between the cases, i'm working on that ) edit: was just thinking, what about using some of that cool unreleased AC-Ryan mirror 2 way plexi between it. An than, put a kind of spiderweb behind that mirror plexi. Spiderweb / spiderrag, something 3d between the whole 2 cases. This spiderweb could be made out of optic fibers (as far as I know you worked with it before) so that, when it lights up, you'll see a cool spiderweb fading in. You could make it fade by fading the leds which lights up the thingies. Well, I'll see what your going to put togheter. Succes with it!
Nice idea! No, it's not going to be mesh But keep in mind i have only 8mm between them. So adding big things would be difficult. And yes, i worked before with fiber and it would be great to use that here if the light output is enough for it.
_ferry_ if got a little question for you..( or any other dutch modder ) i have a premod case with a front door with plexi in it...but there is a nasty crack in it... and i read that that you can fix it with bondo...but my question is: What is Bondo callid in NL and where can i get it thanks for any help
bondo is like 'car filler' and you can buy it in car shops. Dutch mode out.
