Received a very nice package this weekend from Ivo.

Sorry for the amount of pictures, didn't know which ones to delete :)
Everything is clickable to 2560 pixels.

    Somehow I didn't dare to unpack :p

And actually stared at it for half an hour before doing anything :)

As you can see there isn't much left from the 10.6 kg.
The copper part weight is now exactly 1.8kg.

I really think I'm going to nickel plate it.
Copper part is already oxidizing after a few weeks.

But what a job Ivo did ... (And Daniel off course in front!)

    POM next to it.

    And the 'screwless' backplate.

Just had to put it together fast :)

Next day some pics in the sun.

    Exploded view.

Original red aluminum parts on it.

First time testing the M3 holes with stainless steel I ordered at Highflow

    Hmmm nickelplate it?

Think I'm going to polish the POM.

    For a next time. :)

Ok .... it just screamed to be polished :D

    Love Coca Cola.

    Love the result :)
(Camera didn't with all that light)

And put it together once more for you guys :)

Ivo and Daniel ... Real craftsmanship!
Thanks a very lot to be able to be so close to all this!!!

Now .... let's enjoy the nice weather over here :)

Plate it, definitely. Copper just dulls to that 'hot water piper' colour too quickly and too unevenly otherwise. Excellent work all round - I just wish I didn't find 'QuePee' such a faintly silly name...

Can't wait to see this thing in the actual build. That work is amazing! I'm envious of this build. Keep up the great work.

Amazing block, and I love the ROG wings.

You know you can flame polish Delrin? I think Coolmeister did it. His Skulltrail log, if I remember correctly.

WOW! That is some fine work right there! I'm amazed that it only took 1 piece of copper to do it right :)

Hands down, some of the smoothest work i've seen in a long time!

    Thanks Mizugetsu!
Cola is a perfect acid to use, not too aggressive :)
(Don't keep it in too long though)

I made up my mind .. going to nickel plate it :)
    Thanks for the compliment m8!

Just waiting to have it nickelplated before I show anything of the block inside L4n :p
Actually didn't even fit it in myself lol.
    Thanks m8!

Hmmm interresting! Certainly going to look that up.
Thanks for the tip AND the compliment! :)

Too bad it becomes green/grey within a few weeks :/
Just wait for the nickelplated pics, you'll love them :)
    Thanks m8!

If you only knew how exciting the last few weeks were
Thanks for the compliments to us :thumb:

Really nice block. Absolutely amazing that the modding community can pull stuff off like this. Are you guys going to offer that block to other MARS II owners?

But I got to point out one thing: YOU SCRATCHED THE POM??????

I'm very happy you decided to nickel plate it! :thumb:

It would be sad to see something THAT beautiful corrode and lose it's shine! :)

    God day-uhm!

Mate, that is some top shelf stuff there!
Well done for the bravery of ripping apart that card and churning out something way better!

A job very well done to everyone involved on this piece of art!

If the rest of your blocks/fittings are nickel'd then you must nickel plate this block,
however if they are all copper then don't you dare! :p

The POM will look great once its polished although i think it will look better matt black than high gloss polished.

WOW!! Thanks a lot for the comments guys!

Was a day off to my parents .. all I did was reading the comments by mail in the sun
Really appreciate it and glad you all like it!

I'm very sure now it's going to be nickel plated, also since I like to touch stuff like this :)
When I came home I noticed this ... after one day.
    Never leave fingerprints anywhere! :p

    Thanks a very lot Attila!
Actually had to use translate for that word  :D

    I'm doing everything I can m8, thanks! :)

Got some requests for the block but none of them realise what the actual costs would be if you go to a miller with this. ;)
There indeed was a scratch on it however this was from a nail lol, it was easy to get it away.
The POM has the same surface from milling as the copper, that's why you could polish your nails with it :)
Also the reason I want to polish the POM itself.

Well as you can see above ... I almost cried :D

Nah .... knew this from a previous EK copper block.
Just decided I'm not going to polish it every week.
Nickel plater here we come! :)

    Thanks man!
What is it you weren't sure about?

    Thanks a very lot m8!

The Gene-z block is actually copper on the base but isn't in sight ;)
Hmm will see what's possible with the POM as I've never worked with it before.
    Thanks for the compliment!

And thanks both of you! :thumb:
Will try to mount it this week! (O-rings are ordered)
