*drooool* superb, over the top...i think i may be in love
Oooooooh, that block makes me miss the old EKWB designs....
Same here man, thanks
Thanks a lot fellow desk man!
Well I did have plans for the bracket, however I'm keeping it for stability.
That crazy cards weight is around 2Kg now
Really hope you enjoyed it and keep doing that
Thanks a lot bulldogjeff, really means a lot to me!
However personally I'm 100% sure I don't stand a chance against this years mods
Haha thanks matiss
I'm actually starting to get used to the new design
Well .. promised Corsair to do something with the ssd's.
There also was a discussion here with Waynio and The_Crapman about doing something about the ssd's.
So here we go
First remove the sticker.
Sanded with P220. I have something with brushed alu....
But have other plans.
Sawing a piece of tinted acrylic.
Taping the acrylic and glue it with transparent glue. (Becomes transparent when it's dry)
In the meantime further with the casebadge while the glue is drying.
One of the nicest badges I've seen.
Dr. Dre on it again.
Became hotter then I expected.
But who the heck makes 2mm thick badges
More then an hour of filing and sanding.
With the result.
Glue nicely dried.
One to go
And the result.
I'm very happy with it
Noticed right now the heatshrink let go cause of all the dis-connecting :/
Sweeeet, that is sooooo much better & thanks to the neon acrylic it also keeps a good element of the stock cases but enhanced by 100x, perfect.
Nice job on that Pete.
My first time commenting on any of your work but.... this is definitely an amazing build! The Mars II is a big stand out with that custom block but, I definitely love what you've done with the SSD as well (among basically everything else amazing in this build, of course)
On that note - if I was to attempt something similar, you wouldn't mind? been looking for a way to feature my SSDs in a desk build for a while now.
Nice touch with the badges dude!
This idea actually came up because I didn't exactly want to do what you guys said
Thanks Jrule2, really appreciate your comment here
PLEASE do so! Posting all this stuff in detail is so other people can do the same
Still have no feeling in one of my fingers cause of that tiny logo
I'd lick it!
Those SSD's look awesome, almost wish mine would be visible in my build so I could do something similair. Once again, nice job
I'm so glad you didn't, because the result is phenomenal!
An SSD with a window, what ever will he do next?
Very nice SSD Mod !
Awesome work! (I spent almost 15 minutes thinking something briliant to say but I'm too busy trying to catch my breath at the moment...)
Pity SSD drives are so valuable, otherwise I would try this myself!
Oh no, you have to stop teasing me now, that SSD is brilliant, one of the best I have seen.. And back to what you said about some of the builds this year, there is some amazing stuff coming out this year, I was thinking the same thing as you. The standards are just so high.
I don't usually like badges, but those look amazing! Very professional. Great work so far with everything else too!
Still think it's a weird comment
Thanks a lot man!
Well just move it and start, I know you can do it
I actually have no idea hehe.
Thanks m8 for inspiring me
Think you made a good one with this comment
Right now the ssd makes me think of the new Dominator platinum series. Love the that style.
I don't use badges either, however I do all keep them and this one was the nicest I ever had
All company's should make em like that so we can (ab)use them
Prefer the 100% DIY modders way choice you made dude it's awesome.
SSD's look WAAAY cooler than your standart Corsair GT! Nice job l3p!
I tried. I really did. But the new design makes it impossible to mix with many hardware designs and watercooling equipment from other manufacturers, so that breaks the deal for me. Maybe I'll come back to EKWB in the future, who knows? I feel like I'm being spun around - I'm seing circles everywhere!
Oh, and don't even get me started on the "SQ" bit... why on EARTH did they remove the possibility/flexibility for installing fittings from one side of the block? Makes absolutely NO sense to me.
And so you did. AMAZING result. Only... I would have put light INTO the SSD box to light up the SSD boards.
