Hi to bit-tech nation, im new to this forum, but since a few years im an assidual reader to the front page as the forum , so i decided to register myself and present a futured worklog of my ongoing mod of a lian li V2000 black case

lets the pics talk from themself

    the case

its old and in second hand so is a little banged up

it as already a few cuts for routing cables to the mobo

it came with 3 side panels one of them already with a window

starting on the tools that i have to star modding, cheap sander and a few sand papper

and lets start to sand all the case

i was seeing that with that cheap sander i was not geting on removing all the blac and the anodized from the case and was taking too many time because the sander was too slow and powerless so i went to get a new toy and some stuff to help me doing the job more easely

    also some safety gear

    new result

it sands more faster and its more easy to get of the panels the black , the stock scrathes and the anodized

    many thanks and stay tuned

Hi all Again , almost of the sanding and removing of the black anodized of the case is already out

here it is some shots of the sanding while i was sanding

i found by my self that the flap weel was much faster but it gets all dirty and it looses a lot of Alu particules that are dangerous if you breathe so if you are thinking of doing the same use safety gear , gogles and mask

i was allways telling myself to keep cool because this is a hard work and be pacient to not rush the sandind or else it will notice on the final polishing of the case

Anda after a few hours of sanding ... sanding .... sanding .... the case is ready for the next step ...

also trying to improve on my photo skillsss

Thanks for watching, comments are welcome and sorry for my bad and rusty english

    Stay Tuned

Thanks for the comment, there will be no paint scheme on this case, just a very hard and good polish to get it like a mirror and better looking than crhome, the only thing that i am wondoring on put it a paint job are the internals and back plate ...

Nothing better than a lian li case, especially one from the V-series.
Can't wait to see the finished product.

Tank you john, i already read that shutle project, very good indeed but here in portugal i cant get my hands on englishcustompolishes so im working now with Mothers products, for the clearcoat i will not use any because it gets foggy and dark, im studing the hipoteses of use some of the carnauba wax of the car detailers , some of my friends who polished there ALU Weels and then clearcoted the wheels, they geted foggy and loose al the shine so im gessing that i will go whith the carnauba wax , but thats is for later

All of you thanks for the comments

Now some of the work im doing

Well Sanding is very boring but here is some pics of the wetsanding whith WD40 and the stages where : Flap Weel, ScothBrite Weel, Sandpaper 180, 220, 280, 320, 360, Wetsanding 500, 1000, 1200, 2000

Some sandpaper WD40 and the sander

Here in this pic you can see that i wet it whith the WD40

This is how messy it gets

Clening of between stages so the next grit can do is job

Also i unrivet all the case for a propper wash because the WD40 whit the ALU particules gets in every hole and messes all the case whith greesy stuff

Rigth now im starting to polish the case whith Polishing machine and some buffing cloths, i will try to take some pictures todoy after the work is done and resized and show you all

Thanks for watching and comments are wellcome

    Sub'd :)
Shame the sander can't get the bits of paint in the cracks (see last pic of your 2nd post)
    But looks pretty awesome anyways!

Where you from? You have a nice looking house :D

Yes it is a shame, but i work it out whith the frame dismantled and i sanded properly
    BTW living in Portugal, Algarve

Now, for some reason i dindt take any photos during the procedure of the final polished of the frame, maybe i was too exited of the outcomeof the work i was doing but it still lefts to do the side panels and there i will show the procedure of polishing...

Attencion at this stage the polish is only at 80/90 per cent of the perfect polished, some spots of the frame need more polishing and attencion....... ( no rush, litle by litle im olmost there )

As for the photos its a litle bit dificult take pics on chrome stuff ( for me ) still learning how to take them... the photos dont make justice as seen it in live mode

The Pics of the frame Already riveted
