starting new worklog with lian-li v2010 , need some ideas
    motherboard - blooderage
    memory - dominator gt
the case is black (i will powder coat satin black inside)

    1. like this plate but not UV blue , i want clear plate to put some red led inside.

    http://www.acryan.com/index.php?opti...d=24&Itemid=59

i want to start a worklog and buying all the water cooling and modding parts , can you give some ideas??
black case with touch of red.

    2. how can i mount the 140X3?
like the mount on the bottom of TJ07.
there is any brackets i can buy somwere?

    3. side windows:

can i do a clear side windows without to see the screws from the outside (like bolt on)?
clear i mean like the original lian li side windows:
    http://lian-li.com/v2/en/product/pro...29&ss_index=73
    or like murderbox:

    here is my computer:

    project logo:
i think about glow logo with plexi or acryl with red led attached to the top of the case with laser cut or water cut (i didn't know how it call).
    like the FLOW project:

but again , how can i attached the plexi/acryl without to see scerws from the outside??
if you have more ideas for the logo design , i'll be happy to hear.
i know how to build the water cooling system
    i want to put PA140.3 + 120X2

but i'm talking about the design of the case
like murderbox or MDPC system as inspiration.
i checked the worklog list and i didn't found a lot of V2010 cases.
so i ask for help and ideas for clear/clean/simple design.

    4. what is the different between TJ07 and V2010? (tj07 is more popular)
V2010 look bigger and could fit any size of rad.

    rad fans:

    how this fans:
    http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=316&products_id=25374
low noise , low RPM , high CFM
    [IMG]

    it's better than the Yate Loon 140mm - D14SM-12?
what is the best 140MM rad fan?

    fitting:
on the murderbox worklog they use BSP G1/4" - 1/2" High Flow Fittings and Primochill Pro LRT Black 3/8” ID 5/8” OD tube without any clamp ,
how can put 1/2" barb into thin tube??? how come it's without clamps?

for the cutting of the side windows and the top of the case , what should i need to know?
water jet or laser cut? prices?
    i need a template?
how can i attach or stick the plexi/acryl/lexan to the aluminum plate?
plexi/acryl/lexan , which one to choose and from where to buy it?

this pic come from the FLOW project:

it's the same door like in my case , do you have any idea for the design? (pattern or any thing)

before i go to the waterjet workshop i need to make a CAD sketch up for the 2 side door with the place i want to cut?
    i need some info

powder coat the inside of lian li v2010 , can i get advices?

i should drill the rivet out.

    after the powder coating finish.

instead of rivet , i could use TAP to drill M3 hole and use M3 screws?
what is the length of screws should i need?

what is the size of the screws in the case? (mother board tray, hdd , psu , side windows and more...)

i want to replece everything to black , can you help me to find and choose?

the bigger screw is M4 or 6-32 screw or somthing else?

today i got the matrix orbital PLED mx-630 displays (like those in daniel's murderbox)

i use Nikon D90 with 18-105mm VR lens , why i get so poor quality pictures?
can someone give me some advices?

    Matrix Orbital Temperature Probe:

there is way to use Bitspower G 1/4in. Temperature Sensor Stop Fitting??

i want to install it into EK-Multioption RES 250 rev.2 Reservoirs.

i know the Bitspower G 1/4in. Temperature Sensor can install on aquaero 4.00 usb display , but it cost 3 time more.

    thanks

I would post your questions in the Modding forum. This is more about the work that you do. As far as pictures go make sure the lighting is good and even (preferably daylight) like through a window. You could consider making a mini-studio out of a cardboard box with windows cut out on the sides/top and paper placed over them with a white bristol board (sort of like a heavy paper).

Hi i have also a Lian Li case almost the same as yours. Last year i painted the inside black. Drilled out the rivits and replaced them with copper ones. I don't know if there are black ones available.

Pelo911 - you don't say where your located, but there is a company called RivetWise in the UK which do countersunk, black rivets. I got 100 3.2mm x 7.5mm next day delivery for £14.84.

Oboema, I'm not sure if they would deliver to you, but I don't see why they wouldn't, that is if you wan't to redo all your rivets.

    2) EK and Danger Den make very good watercooling parts for the CPU and GPU. MIPS make amazing waterblocks for the NB and SB. Pump - Go with a Danger Den CPX-Pro or a DDC 3.2.

For mounting the rad, I'd remove the 3.5" drive cages in the bottom of the case and drill either fan holes or some type of vent in the side panel, and mount it in the bottom of your case. Hammond boxes with double side tape work great.

Fans: Use all black fans. LEDs and colored fans distract people, and they start looking at the fans rather than the computer as a whole. As you may have noticed, Charles uses black fans in his Murderboxes.

Tubing/Fittings: If you heat up the end of the tubing in boiling water, it softens and allows you to push the end over a larger fitting. When it cools, it is next to impossible to remove, so you don't need to use clamps.

Mounting the PLEDs: Unless you are very experienced at metalworking and using CAD drawings, I'd talk to Charles at Murdermod about creating a custom solution for you. It would be more expensive than doing it yourself, but you have the peace of mind knowing that it will turn out perfect.

Side Panel pattern: Try to think of a overall design for your mod. Do you want it to be simple and beautiful, or more hardcore? Then try sketching out some designs and then model them in Sketchup

Screws: Cant really help you here, as every case is different. However, in my experience, 6-32 is usually used for basically everything in the case, while M3 is used for the HDDs and DVD drives. I am not sure about the tiny screws though - try checking the Owner's Manual.

Temperature probe - It would just involve splicing a new connector on the end of the Bitspower probe.

To mount plexi without screws or rivets use double sided tape or clear silicon.

Also, to get host over larger fittings you soak the ends of the hose in boiling water for a few seconds. Once the hose cools down it creates a very tight seal around the fitting and makes the need for clamps minimal.

Use a 1/8" drill bit to drill off the tops of the rivets. Once you see it start spinning stop drilling. Then you can just push it out. There is someone, AC Ryan or PPC's, that have black rivets. Best deal is to go to an industrial supply house and buy a box of them.

I would see if you can put your radiator in the top of the case.

I have always liked that lianli case, its very well made, but a tad to big for my liking.

One thing i would suggest is to compartmentalise the bottom section, make a nice shroud for the PSU. Also make a shroud for the top hard drive cage so its stealthed nicely.

As for watercooling, a rad will easily fit in the top, i suggest putting one in the top and one in the bottom and remove the bottom HD cage, and put all the pump res down there, and stealth it and leave the rad at the side like a Tj07.

You have a lot of space to work with in this beast so everything could be in its own little area and look very sleek.

It can actually be a little tight for a top rad In this case
There is about 49mm from the roof to the top edge of the motherboard. The thin rads I've seen vary between 27 and 32mm thickness, add a 25mm thick fan and a silicon gasket and you might find yourself interfering with 8PIN ATX, USB ports or VRM heatsinks. Make sure you take this into account if you want to fit a rad up there.

Now I'm not saying a 120 x1/2/3/4 rad won't fit (or even a 140 x1/2/3), just warning you that depending on the motherboard you could face some interference.
But if you don't mind the rad to be a little offset to the left side then this is totally a non-issue.
