Now we go to the assembly of "switchbox" that allows me to have 6 on/off switchs, virtually invisible and always in hand. 3 of switchs are destined to on/off the 4 fans and the other 3 are for light control...

Here you can have a notion of the simplicity: it is a simple box for components, 6 switchs mounted in, a few holes...

Attention that that stick paper is going to be replaced by an acrylic plate...

    Already closed…

This is the only part that will be seen, and only if you're looking from the bottom …

    From top…

An important part of the system will be the isolation of the vibrations of the bomb, since i look for silence; the bomb (and the hard-drives, as later I came to prove and to regret not to have chosen samsung spinpoint) will be one of the audible parts of the system when the fans are turned off therefore I invented a little:

Those black pieces are rubber with 3 mm of thickness glued with ribbon of pair-face, these from above go to make pressure against the acrylic part in the thick partition wall of the box.

Here in low I placed rubber in all the surface and I put 4 feet also in rubber to distribute the force. Thus the bomb is with height to be to the pressure enters deep of the box and the acrylic, thus reducing the vibration (I wait).

Here already placed, with connectors, power wire sleeved, and the acrylic.

Assembly of the cpu and gpu blocks

Assembly of the cpu and gpu blocks.

Here also we do not have nothing of special, I used an Artic clean system of the old past in two phases of the Artic, and later I placed Ceramique in the two.

It may seem to much, butbelieve it's a fine layer …

Later i'm gonna to substitute those 3 passive coolers for watercooling…

The gpu, note the black pcb that matches with the one of motherboard and that it will match with the X-Fi that will come...

2 step Artic Cleaning, Ceramique and blade.

    Treatment of the wires...

There we go to come back to the treatment of the wires... That acrylic part that lodges the controller of the bomb and distribution of energy...

    From up

    It goes here

That one is a space that is under the 5 bay area, therefore i do not lose none with that position...

do not worry about those cuts, they will not be visible, I admit that I was a little sluggish...

    The solution:

    How is going to be...

The midlle one is for wires

    Hope you like…

    These will be hidden, also…

    Back to acrylics...

I'm not inventing the wheel, since in almost all these boxes, is placed something to cover the area of the bays that it is seen through the window.

I picked a bit of acrylic, dremel and a coin...

And now already with almost all the cables(it lacks wires for white leds that I have to mount, buy black sata cables and bigger, second hard-drive, i am waiting the dual aquadrive, blocks for the passive coolers of the board, the x-fi, and a surprise for the frontal).

General photo, that optic drive is for replace, but i'm going to keep the IDE cable like that, only going to put it to pass under drive, thus he will be hidden between the drive and aquadrive...

    Temporary Results

There then we go to see what I got for the time being... Temps idlle only sailing in the net, photoshop and about 6 hours of uptime and 15º c of ambient temperature:

Ah and with the 4 120 fans at 12 volts, I have to try in the 5 and passive

    Actual circuit

    aquatube > pump > rad 120 > cpu > 2nd rad 120 > gpu > rad 240 > aquatube

    future

    aquatube > aquadrive dual > pump > rad 120 > cpu > mosfets? > northbridge? > 2nd rad 120 > gpu > chipset? > rad 240 > aquatube

    Not Bad

Well, I tried this in passive, or either, only with fan of the psu running at 777 rpm, i can only hear the hd.

Silence is impressive, and annoys me to hear the hd...

I wait anxious for the aquadrive dual but already I heard to say that it does not total isolate the noise of some hds...

If it will be my in case that, I will have to invent something...

Nice job with the mod! Very clean. It's obvious you took the time to plan it out and it is very organized. :cooldude:

BTW, where did you get those push-on fittings? (The last pic of your first post).

No, not yet, but, why buy DDR2 in the first place? No offence, I've fallen in the trap myself, I have almost the exact same Intel system myself.

thanks, the push-on fittings were bought in very good shop at Lisbon, Portugal. if you want you can visit their site www.aquapc.net, but i think it's a bit expensive to send to usa...

Well, i finally got the name for the project:

    Linear.

Meanwhile, i was not liking the general picture of the mod, so, i diassemble everything, and start over some of the things i already made.

Everything ready for painting, it's going to take some time cause it will be painted in an auto shop...

    Meanwhile:

    The case:

While i am waiting for the parts to get painted, i redone the top grill

    Just a little pick:

Very clean work RedStak. My only (constructive) criticism is that the black piping with all the elbows on the CPU and GPU looks out of place hanging out in the middle of nowhere. Otherwise I think it's great!

The piping will also be redone, just waiting for the parts get painted to mount everything...

    Up

I'm still waiting for the parts to get painted, so i'm doing what i can without those parts...

I stoped at the top grill, the one that will hold the 240 rad and the aquatube.

Acrylic sheets, the one in top is 3mm black and the bottom one is 5mm semi-clear white.

    The tools to use...

    Hole-saw in detail...

    the rough result.

I put them apart and reduced the size of the 5mm sheet...

    Rounded corners...

    All of them...

    Finishing tools

400 folllowed by 1200 + fine polish = perfect edges

It was hard to take good photos...

    A few hours of work...

I took the acrylic excess from the previous cuts and an hole-saw...

Four donuts and four litle circles...

    Finishing...

    And you get:

    The screw hole...

    Everything in place...

    The aquatubehole, perfect...

    general view...

    Still a bit dirty...

    Meanwhile i tooked it apart...

    Some marks...

With only one led, just to see the effect...

Dude, this looks damn nice. I'm still not sure where to put my own radiators. I've got a BIX2, BIP2 and a BIP, so it will be a combination of the BIX2 and BIP2 og BIX2 and BIP.
