    Load of utter tosh.

A project log should be able to involve all elements as they're all important. Physical progress IMO doesn't mean more than digital, it's just different. I could easily grab myself a load of scraps and just start cutting, or pick up a mini-lathe and start turning, doesn't make it more meaningful nor impressive. Building the thing is what finishes a log if anything, I definitely wouldn't say it's a whole other level, just part of the process.

All this started because of the dismissive nature of the reply to the first complainee, this is not about PARVUM specifically....at least not from my end anyway.

All im asking for is clarification of posting guidelines, when they are changed without warning you get these situations.....I dont mind either way but at least be clear about it and have it across the board.

So,lets derail the hate train/white knight wankfest and concentrate on the issue at hand? There is NO point is discussing a problem if we are not going to achieve a resolution for it.

TBH I don't mind a couple of renders although I personally don't bother with them myself, for me it's always a work in progress that's not saying I don't have the end result pictured in my mind.

One showing end product and one showing exploded parts would be cool.

The one's that really bore me are the one's that are all the same apart from a different colour scheme seriously who really want's to see 5 identical boxes just different colours  and of course the mass of over sized picture's

BTW One doesn't just pick up a mini lathe and start turning you have to learn how to use it first and that requires time and practice which = skill.

And if no one had these tools Mill's lathes and CNC's machines where would people get their Perspex Milled or their aluminium CNC'd

Not learning to use a rending program correctly will result in crap renders, Not learning to use a lathe correctly will result in injury and expensive damage to said machine I know which is more important to me :p

I'm not saying that design is less important than building (that would be tosh); I'm saying that building is an equally important, but very different skill set to designing (as I'm finding out... :p As Teelzebub says, using a mill or lathe is not a simple matter of clamping in some metal and starting turning. Every day I'm learning something new --usually the hard way. I've got a spectacular new scar on one finger to prove it). A project is the convergence of both skill sets, and as such should reflect both.
