The couch has already been ordered from a Macy's furniture near my house and should be delivered next week. I tried to find a picture online, but no luck, so you will have to check back for a picture. Its a tanish color, suade, and has winged back and sides. I do a lot of computer work for people in my area and get paid or get free hardware, so a lot is from that. I also work at the Science Center (see back a page or 2 for some pics) and am a dancer (no I am not gay so no one start that BS). I have done a number of guest dancing jobs that pay from 400-800 bucks for a little less that a week of work. Nick
Why don't you use Desktop Rover?? I have one mouse+keyboard (Logitech Cordless Desktop MX), and I can control my laptop AND my normal computer with it. It handles just like a dual screen setup, so when I move the mouse far enough to the right, it hides on my monitor, and it pops up on my laptop! I have full keyboard functionality on both my normal computer AND my laptop With this piece of uber software, you can also send over you clipboard content and CTRL+C CTRL+V files over 2 computers
I hear ya bro. I'm in musical theater and people call me *** all the time. I'm like.....what? Great way to meet chicks if you ask me. Especially because only single ones go to the theatre!!! Nice room BTW
Wowee, I envy you! And you got that 19" monitor super cheap, it would cost a bomb in the UK. So I guess you're gonna be spending a lot more time in your room?! What about the heat from all the computers and monitors though? My room right now is 29C with a TFT, laptop and server!
I just got wood looking at that thing. In your first post, if thats low budget, id hate to see you rich.
yeah, rich ppl suck i thought my twin 17inch benqs rocked, then i had lan at my place over the weekend and a mate i hadnt seen for a while rocked up with a 24inch dell lcd. thats a neat setup, but id ditch the keyboards and get a kvm
See, I was going to do that, but I hate KVMs. It is easier for me to have multiple keyboards, especially with how often I switch around. Oh, AND REALLY AWESOME NEWS! I am getting a set of Logitech Z-5500 from logitech for free cuz one of the channels on my Z-680s pooped out on my the other day and they don't make those any more. I have to give mad props to Logitech for their friendly customer service too! 5-10 days for them to come. Nick
Not pop, pooped out, and no, actually I wasn't. I hadn't used the surround speakers for a while, but then when I wired my room for them and tested them to make sure they worked, it wasn't working. Nick
damn man, sweet setup! i like your monitor setup, i was debating getting 2x 19" but that would be about £400, so instead ive been donated my dads 15" laptop (which goes to like 1600x1200!) and am getting an acer 8ms 19" yeah!!! i like the fact your room is uber sweet, and it all looks very well thought out! if i could be bothered, i would probably do something like that in my room! i personally use maxivista v2 to use my laptop as a 2nd screen, it works really well and doesnt slow down the pc's that much! **dreams of 3x 19"'s** yeah that would roxor! i cant live without dual screen anymore, i tried, but it just doenst work, i love having either azureus or winamp on the 2nd screen and my browser and msn etc on my main screen, its unbeatable
dude! that desk is tight! i have about 10 comps to myself right now!(gotta love dumpster diving!) and i know which ikea your talking about, on my way to ohio, for scout camp, our troop got lost, and ender up heading twords carnagie, and we drove by ikea twice! lol....but seriously, your room(s) are tight! when i redo my workshop in the basement, and set up the other part of my lan, ill have to post pics.... but cool, can't wait to see hwat you do next!
Lol man, I just went to reread your first post and your slouching in that first picture so it looks like you have arms that are 10 feet long. Rofl, just thought I should mention that, and that I am embarking on a project nearly the same as yours, have already built myself a super-size desk and will be building a second part for it in the next 2 weekends.
Update today! So I have been busy with some finishing touches. Yes that meant another trip to ikea!! (and some other stores) So check it out! These are some costers from Crate and Barrel (love the store). And I used the pictyre that I took for my background changed the hue to match the color. This is a poster I got and I made the set of 5 pictures above the poster. The blue light is just a touch I added to finish the corner. Close up of the set (sorry kinda blurry). I wired the surround speaker cables around my room through my closets so that you can't see the wires, but I didn't have to do too extensive work (so that my mom wouldn't be upset. She doesn't like me drilling holes and running cables too much. I also added a counduit box and some banna jacks so that the speakers can be unpluged if I need to for some reason. I also added this light behind the monitors for an accent. I also got this chair at Target to use when needed (it was cool). Hope you liked the schtuff. Peace, Nick
I like this very much, your room has come a very long way since the start of the project. I finally cleaned out my room and I've since been very consious about keeping it clean since it's really so much more livable and I spend so much time in it I'd benefit a LOT from taking everything out and then putting stuff back as needed considering wiring, but I really don't have the space for that so oh well. That artwork on the wall is a nice touch. So different from the Matrix posters and some uber-res shot of their case mod on the walls of many-a-geek. I personally tacked up a beach towel I got as a free gift from Newegg Regardless of how much I love newegg (too much), I definately prefer your solution.
