Wow, you know your style! I've never been to IKEA because there isn't a single IKEA store in the southern part of the UK. The closest would be Bristol or Croyden, which are both about 2 hours away. :(

If I wasn't off to uni, I would be doing up my room with some stylish photos, seating and setup! The backlight of the monitors is a really cool and soothing idea! Is this project ever gonna end?

Anyone here gonna pay for my plane ticket to Pittsburgh so that I can see the room?

Thanks for all of the compliments guys!!

Well, really the couch just needs to be delivered and the project will be visually finished. Though I will be taking apart the computers and putting the MoBo verticle--access will be much better I think.

Yes the speakers are very nice until the rear right speaker stops working (it an amp problem) but I am getting a set of Z-5500 (Logitech is relplacing mine with those: see earlier post). I am disapointed though, because I can't use this speaker wire on those speakers without modifying them....

The wire is Monster XP. The banna plugs are also from Monster--they are nice and have a great weight to them.

    Peace,
    Nick

He probally uses Ultramon, I don't know many people who don't use Ultramon with their multiple monitor setups.

I did a project that's shockingly similar to the one you're doing. I have to say, that was the best month's worth of work I ever did and I'm sure you'll feel the same way. Lookin' pretty sweet so far and I like the Monster Cable action going on and the photographs as well.

I know its been a little while since I updated, but here I am.

So a big box arrived at my door last week. (yay!)

    Z-5500s!!!! Wooooooot!

A comparison between my Z-680s to the Z-5500s. Not only are the 5500s sexier, and bigger, they are much improved. The LCD is visible at all angles now and the controls are nicer and the sound quality is better. The level of background static is lower too. Soon I will be opening the amp to my 680s to see if I can repair them.

I also redid the inside to my PCs. I added a drive cage to my main rig and mounted the mobos on wood and upright. The PCs look messy, but it is pointless for me to organize them because I am constantly upgrading or changing their configurations, and you cant really see the wiring anyways.

ALSO! COUCH IS COMING NEXT THURSDAY!! THIS WILL MARK THE OFFICIAL END OF THE PROJECT.....

yeah right. I already have plans for a projector, 20" LCD and an Athalon X2 system. I should have the money by the end of next may!!!

    Peace,
    Nick

EDIT: Yes I am using Ultramon! It is great!

Aww man those 5500's look sweet.... I should have asked for those for my birthday... even if it meant I had to pay the difference between the z5300e's and those... They look Great... Now go listen to "Like Eating Glass" by Bloc Party for me... Ooh oooh ooh and "Bandages" by Hot Hot Heat... Ohhh And you can't leave out Track 2 from the Half Life 2 Soundtrack *especially because of that Awesome Sub*...

Remind me again how you are affording all this awesomeness?

Yeah I just got a set of the 5500's for my bday, totally awesome. 50% volume means hear them clearly from either outside or the basement with no distortion... I really like the idea of doing the banana plug wiring thing but would be impossible in my room :(

It's kinda weird they didn't want your ols speakers back? Usually no shop/manufacturer gives stuff from warranty without getting busted hardware back... Costed me fuc'in 30€ to get new graphiccard :D (and then the problem was in mobo :waah:)

However back to topic...... I love that room. All decorative parts :) I've done quite much to my room inspired by this topic. Problem in my room is all this stuff, I simply seem to have it way too much.

I know, but Logitech has GREAT technical support and policies. Since they don't make the 680s anymore they have no use for them. They are not out to screw their customers so they don't bother getting them back if they don't need them.

    Peace,
    Nick

NcZ: ok. I haven't had ANY Logitech-products so I don't know about their supports.

I'd so want to have just an normal shaped table :( This is some sort of corner-model...
