This is my very first project log on mods. I have modded here and there on PC's but, this one is gonna be major. Will it be Zap Wizard major? no. I do not have all the parts, but they are slowly coming in. Here is the key part of it, the PLC program that will be loaded into an Allen-Bradly 1760-L12AWA Pico Controller. Some call this a smart relay, but really it is a low end small application PLC. Now, I present the start of National Security! 10/14/03 Completed minor Mod to case and I took some pics. Lower front of the case with the old bolts Both front pieces with the new bolts Detail of the new bolts Front of the case Front with the top open Front with whole front open The Side panel Rear Panel Case top Case top with I/O panel open The PLC PLC with cover off close up with cover off All the PLC parts The front panel of the PLC
best49erfan, We'll move your thread into project logs once you post some pics of the project developing
why do you want to use PLC? Those are used on high power/voltage circuits, and have NOTHING to do in a computer due to the strong electromagnetic fiels... or do i get this completely wrong? I have worked a bit with PCL (and the systems around it.. relays, switches and all that stuff) and i think you'd be better off with some electronic circuits made for smaller electronics... not huge chunky relays... but again: do i get all this wrong?
PLCs are digital electronics. You can do the same thing with your huge chunky relays as you can with a plc.
i'll be keeping my eye on this project from what best has told me about it via aim, it sounds really cool c'mon best, tell the folks here what you told me about all the nifty functions that your using the plc for, and why it's named national security
Well doc, when i get some pics up and some more parts, they will see the greatness this project can become............. DrxAndy: Best49erfan Stalker across the WWW with Bit-tech and XUG!
here is the start. Someone move this back to the project logs...... http://www.surrealisticsystems.com/nationalsecurity.htm
Quite interesting. Actually, all you need is some robotics major to decide to case mod and we will all be left in his wake. Can't wait to see any progress you make!
