you gotta figure out a way to make a wood cover for that dvd drive...

you might find a vandal switches with decent mounting depth, worst comes to worst you could carve 3/8" out of the back with a dremel or router where the nut goes onto the button, just big enought to get the right size socket over it

    EDIT:

or use these qtouch things that switch on when you put your finger on it... pretty cool

Does anyone think I should put a 120mm fan on the front?
also how would I stealth the dvd rw using wood?

a 120 mm fan couldn't hurt but could look awkward depending on how you do it. A good way of stealthing the dvd drive is to take off the plastic bezel/cover that on the front and then u can glue/screw/tape a peice of matching/contrasting wood to the tray part. Many really good mods have utilized this. If u want to see it, look at G69Ts dark blade or orac 3. If u want to go really really stealthed, check out my log.

haha, i thought of woody also. Maybe you could name it "woodshop 3000 X-treme version 2.0 sxr--THE DESTROYER". or just "woodshop"

Put the 120mm up front. As for the bezel just look up "cd stealth mod" on google and you'll find tons of stuff. Basicly you tape a peice of wood onto the front and use some tape so that when you press on the bezel it pops open. Very easy and would improve your case tremendously

for buttons, use a normal switch, and make a wooden 'head' for it...that way it will fit in perfectly with the rest of the theme :)

heres a page from mouser's catalog. http://www.mouser.com/catalog/626/1205.pdf you would have to route some aread b/c 3/4" is way to think, these have an 11mm mounting depth which is about .433 inches.

basically, you can browse the rest of their catalog as well, i think its around vandal switches, so see what other people have, some have lights some don't, etc.

if you click on the blue part of the pdf, another screen pops up where you can see the data sheet. this will give you a better idea of what they look like besides the CAD drawing.

    hope this helps
