Ok, this is my first project log so bear with me!

I traded my Lian Li PC-65 for this shuttle, and I just couldn't leave it un modded haha, so here goes.

This is about ten minutes after I got it

The last guy who had it cut this out, it needs to be cleaned up a little I think.

I didn't take many pictures until after I started to cut the windows:

    TOP WINDOW

    SIDE WINDOW

All the windows cut, I think they were filed at this point as well

    Next up, WINDOWS

All cut out of 1/4 inch lucite on a table saw. Funny story about these, and, this being my project log, I'll tell it haha. So I was thinking "Oh shnit, I need to go buy plexi" I was planning to go buy this insanely cheap stuff at Home Depot, you know the kind covered in a clingy plastic instead of paper? And then my dad shows up with a 2 foot by 4 foot sheet in the back of his truck that was scrap from golf cart windshields he had his mechanic cut! (He's the superintendant at a golf course BTW) So he saved the day, and I have tons of plexi!

The etch. I used my dremel and reversed the image since I wanted the etch on the inside.

This one gives you an idea of how it will look mounted.

    All three etched and mounted

A good pic of how it looks mounted externally

The cleaned up fan area (Sorry for the blurry pic, me and a buddy did all this shnit in one night, and I think that was about 4:50 AM, we were on a sugar/ caffein high at that point lol)

On a side note, these are my favorite window making tools ever! (Disregard the muffler lol)

TO DO, though not in this order
    -Decide on a color scheme
-Order LED's and light the internals
    -Paint the chasis
-Design and build the custom front bezel
-Mount this 5.4 inch full color LCD in the front bezel

Real Nice Matey - Love the windows and the cutouts, everything looks very professional.

Love to see a modded shuttle.

But I hope thats not a beige drive I saw there :dremel:

That beige drive is going to be hidden behind the custom bezel that is in the works. You'll only see a slit where you insert the DVD and one of those illuminated vandal resistent switches for ejection.

Thanks for the comments! :dremel:  :thumb:

Haha, yes I did, that's why it took me ten minutes before I could disassemble it.

    Thanks,

    Yes, yes you do!

Oh, and the hardware that's going into this thing

Athlon Mobile 2400+ (soon to be a 2600+)
Sapphire Radeon 9600 (soon to be replaced with a 9700 or 9800)
    80GB Western Digital Special edition x 2
    1024 MB KingMAX PC3200 2x512
Pioneer 106S slot loading DVD drive

And did I mention I am going to watercool it? :naughty:

Nice - Is the WC gonna be totally self contained ? Or...

Yep, at this point I am planning on it being self contained, but I may move to an externally mounted radiator if I decide to wet down more chips than just the cpu, which I probably will lol. I think I might be able to fit a 120MM radiator into this thing, but that'd take a small miracle and a lot of custom fabrication, I'll draw something up here in a minute.

    Thanks,

Yea anther modded shuttle. I love those things.

I would love to see you get a Rad in there. Probably work best mounted on the back though. I will be keeping my eye on this one.

[edit] oh yeah, and the 5" LCD. This will be interesting. :naughty:

Interestingly not many are spacing it from the chassis to get the venting benefits.

I actually traded my case, power supply, and DVD/ CD-RW combo for the shuttle over at HardForum, so it is do-able.

An update to the to do list-
    -Window and paint the DVD-ROM
-Sand and polish the Plexi edges
    -Round the plexi corners

Well, yes and no. I couldn't really fit 1/4 inch plexi in the shuttle, there is almost no clearance. Plus it will look insane when I get it lite :dremel: :naughty:

So right now I need a design for the top of the DVD. Anyone got any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Endscape

That DVD is screaming for a window mod, being so close to the top window and all ;)

Nice work. Can't wait to see the rest of this project :)

    The LCD is dead.

I've got someone with more experience coming over in a couple of hours to help me with it, but this may be an LCD-Less shuttle

That really sucks about the LCD... I have a 5.6" that I want to mount on mine as was really looking forward to seeing how you did it... Hopefully it isn't dead and you are still able to use it...
