I am, in the first pic you can see the wires coming out of the top. They wont be like that when Im done. They will be coming out of the sides. Basically I bent a piece of aluminum and it now wraps partially around the Framework that I have attached to the PSU. This will act to hide all bare wiring.
Well, Im finally happy enough with the fin molding that I can pronounce It DONE. After severall applications of bondo and awhile of sanding and shaping I am pretty much done with the molding of the fins into the base. The front fins, with some spot putty applied: They look a little rough but they look way better in person. Let me know if this shot is to far out and I will get a better one. The joint between the front and right fins, this was by far the most painstaking part: The top part of the right fins required a bit of molding into the base: The rear of the right set of fins, this part was pretty hard too(dont know why either) Still requires a bit of touch up work as you can see some fresh bondo applied: And rear part of the left set of fins, these gave me tons of trouble as you can see a few updates ago: Tomarrow I will sand it all with 400(maybe 600 too) and I may primer it all. Im a bit worried about primering it, I really dont know how I would go about sanding the primer coat on the fins. Any Tips??????? Thats it for now.
OOOOooooo, well done, finally all done *touch wood* Do I dare ask....... have you decided on a colour??? Keep us updated as always ! -cLoWn
Its ment to be a rocket kinda spacey thing if my (very bad) memory serves me rightly. Are you going for the comic rocket lookey or the professional really lookey?? -cLoWn PS - man i am hoping i remember correctly
wrap ur sand paper around a credit card and sand inbetween that way u will have a flat surface that way to sand with
I dont really know. I just looked at this case(when it was stock) and thaught to myself: It would look great with some fins over the vents and painted all chrome(which is no longer an option) Now im stumped. Thanks for the tip flacowboy, very usefull. Better than just holding the sandpaper down with my finger and pulling it
Looking at the case as it is, I think a two colour theme would look best. One colour, fairly plain, and then a brighter louder one for the details, and the entire base (base being the bit with the fins all the way round). Thats just how i see it though, tis your project, just trying to nudge you along Keep up the gd work! -cLoWn
Then go with the gunmetal, and do the scorching with some other color. I am trying to think of the F117 engine exhaust area, It gets scorched but looks kind of a redish brown if I remember right. That is if you like the scorched metal idea.
glad that the one of my tips finely worked out for u i have tried hard enough lol anyway great job so far keep up the good work btw my puter that i am workling on is pearl white lol
Well, just because its white doesnt mean Ill hate it. I just wouldnt use it myself. Also, Im not sure what tip your referring too. I havnt Had a chance to try the credit card tip yet.
I have Not Followed this Project cause i didnt think it would Go this Far but its Interesting to watch now. It doesnt look like much but for some reason Something Keeps Bringing me Back to this Project. Good Luck Hoping to See Future Updates.
