    Motherboard installation...

    @Simsy, I'm all about the tease :D

On with the update. I was finally able to slam the motherboard in the case (a good feeling). Some specs: The motherboard is Asus A8V-E Deluxe, that's spiced up with AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Venice core and 1G of Kingston HyperX ram. The cooler is Coolermaster Hyper 6+ if I remember correctly, it might be it's predecessor also, can't remember, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Some pics about that also :thumb:

There it is, first piece of hardware installed :hehe:

And of course it was installed with black hexheads

    More to come...

    DVD burner installation...

Ok, since the motherboard is installed I could install some other hardware in the case also, in this case the Plextor DVD burner. I finally got the round metalplate polished, looking good too...

Here it is fully assembled with the trademark orange fan showing it's reflective abilities, lol.

Believe or not, but it's behind that thing...hmm...maybe that's why they call it a stealth plate :hehe:

    Finally some eye-candy...

    ...shiny bugger!

Something is still left, if you guys still want to see it...?

    Hard drive installation...

Okay, you asked for it, lol.

This is probably the last update tonight, more to come tomorrow though.

So let's look at the hard drive installation procedure...

Here's the stock Nexus Drive-A-Way waiting for something to put in it...hmm...

And this is what's going in there, that's 320Gb Sata II goodness...

Let's open the silencer unit and...

    ...screw on some mounting rails.

These are going to replace the original screws on the unit, they are shortened 6#32 bolts.

Next I tackled the power wire. It had something useless as stock...

...now it doesn't have it anymore. I wanted to use the molex connector cause the Sata power connector isn't too robust and in such a tight spot it might break.

You see what I'm talking about, there's not much room cause the Sata cable is taking all the space and you would have to stuck that Sata power wire to the left side of that Sata cable, not a good idea.

    Case closed :thumb:

That's it for tonight, more to come tomorrow, thanks for following tonights show...

Looks great, what difference would it make, sata power or regular?

None whatsoever, but molex as a connector is much more sturdy than the flimsy Sata power connector, that's why I went that way...

    Good night everybody.

Sorry about that antiHero, we have to start the assembly process from somewhere. The good stuff is coming, I still intend to have this thing ready by the end of this month, so I'll have to crank it up a notch :hehe:

This gruntwork just takes a lot of time to get it just right, but I think today I'll be able to show you some custom work also :thumb:

    Don't lose faith...

    i love it!
even that fact that the components arent top of the line and worth millions of dollars makes it better because it shows real ppl can make some of the BEST mods out there.

incredible job so far, very clean, one question. what are you gonna do with lighting? orange led's, cold cathodes, or maybe something completely different?

    great job!

    Some eye candy...

Ok, ok, I admit it, yesterdays update wasn't that hot after all :hehe: Sure, a lot of work to get there and loads of pics to show them, but not too much visual appeal. Let's remedy that shall we...

This first piece isn't quite ready yet, it still needs a bit of work to make it fit and especially make the original lower compartment shroud fit with it.

    Pics!

The two holes will have the original shroud behind them, so every one of those holes will have acrylic behind them...

...so this is just a mockup installation, not final by any means, just to show you how it'll look like when done.

Which is the real foot?

This next piece was originally a part of the shroud seen above, but since it wouldn't have been visible cause of the window, it was sawn out and promoted to vga card support. But after I had another idea, it was demoted to just sit on the front drive cage and look good :hehe:

And here it is "installed" in the case...

    ...quite nice reflections there also.

That's about it for now, hope you'll like it :thumb:

    @antiHero

Hopefully your faith has been re-newed :D

    @Yumadil

I still don't have a clue about the lighting, once I get the case to the stage that I can get the fans on, I'll see what needs to be done lightingwise...you'll find out soon enough.

    Janne out!
