This is an absolutely fantastic mod. I have watched it for a while before I become a member to bit-tech and you had me hooked. Good luck with the rest of the mod.

Thanks for the comments guys and rest assured the post easter update is coming as soon as possible.

The main reason for the delay was that I didn't get as much done before easter that I wanted to, so I wanted to postpone the update, sorry about that. This weekend is all about modding, so I should be able to produce the update and quite a lot of progress as well.

    Stay tuned...

    8800GTS Waterblock installation...

Okay, it's not quite easter anymore :hehe:

I've actually done a whole heap of stuff with the OM, so let's start updating, shall we...

This should be about where we left off last time. I stripped and cleaned the card and installed the block on it, pretty straightforward.

There's a few closeups of the blocks details.

As you can see from these pictures, I've already installed the motherboard in the case and this is how the GTS sits in...

...as close as it may be :D

More to come once I get the pictures sorted and ready :thumb:

Feel free to leave comments again.

    Rad assembly...

Still here and as evil as ever :hehe:

Thanks for the support guys, more updates ahead, stay focused now...

Okay, it's quite clear that the rad going in the Monster is going to be a GT Stealth 240, but there's a minor twist. I want the whole water cooling system to be modular...in a way at least, the following pictures will explain it better...

As you can see the two A.C.Ryan fans attach to the rad with 8 hexhead bolts. These bolts were shortened so that they don't touch the rad fins.

Also you can see that the fans have lost those pesky little stickers and are now protected by plain satin black vinyl.

Then the wiring, both fans have their own wire which were shortened to reach the Aquaero perfectly. After that I added a third connector which will give the leds their power.

On the bottom side there isn't anything special, just two compression fittings.

Well how do I intend to attach the whole thing to the case, that'll be up next...

I'm using ordinary fan screws to keep the thing in place. This way I can take the whole assembly out without having to fight with long screws trough the fans. Not that sophisticated, but it works well :D

The thing this whole assembly is missing is a fanguard. That's under construction and didn't make it's way to the photoshoot quite yet, but I'll show you how I'm going to attach it.

It's going to be screwed on with four M4 hexhead bolts and attached to the case with these threadserts. Again I can take the fanguard off and for example clean the fans if necessary and all this without having to mess with the rad assembly itself.

That's it for now, keep them comments rolling :hehe:

    Res installation...

I'm going for the hat trick today :D

As I mentioned earlier, I've made quite a bit of progress with this thing, but I haven't had the time to do the updates, so there'll be a bunch of them...

    Let's get back to business!

If you can remember, when I last updated, I still wasn't sure about the design of the case front. Well, I contemplated it a while and this is the conclusion.

You could say that I'm keeping it simple, cause I'm stupid :hehe: Just kidding, but when I looked at the case and the parts I've made, this was the shape I saw everywhere. Oval it is then :thumb:

You can also see that I scrapped the idea of having polished pieces on the front. Less is sometimes more as our fellow modder modsquad has thought us (plus I hated the idea of fingerprints, so there we go :p).

That's the butt-side of things. I still have to swap the temperature sensor to the other side, but otherwise it's done. Also, notice the different kind of compression fitting outer rings (is that a word?). I'm using these in places where you can't see since I don't have enough of the better looking ones...catch my draft :eeek:

I also need a fillport. Delrin is the way to go here and of course with an acrylic glowring...swish!

There's the fillport assembly with just the right amount of tubing attached to it.

And boom, there it is. Before you ask, that's water allright, as I said, I've been making some progress here :hehe:

That light comes from a single white led which was just put there for...well...lighting purposes. The final version will be an UV-led and the fluid is going to have orange dye in it, so that should look pretty good...

...though I think this looks pretty damn good too :D

I'll leave you with a few artsy pictures as I tend to do...

There ya go, comments are always appreciated.

See you soon along with another update.

Good to see you posting again Janne!

If you're going for the "clean" look on the front, you should be able to wipe all that screenprinting off the front of your DVD drive with
    some Isopropanol / Isopropyl Alcohol.
