here it was during the 2004 Intel Case mod competition . . . more photos here. i'll be posting the "project log" in a couple days . . . hope you guys like it cheers!
That's pretty slick! I really like the external reservoirs! Two questions: 1) Did you use dry connect/disconnect fitting on the back of the Main box so you could disconnect the Reservoirs without draining the system? 2) Out of curiosity, why did you run the connections out the back? Just seems like there is a lot of visible wiring that (IMHO) detracts from the overall Amazing Finish of the mod...
Thats very cool. I also that the resevoirs were speakers at first. It looks like a futuristic stereo system. But why are the drive bays so far back? What are the system specs?
that is about one of the most coolest things i have ever seen. i love it. hmmm gives me ideas. i may scrap my ammo box pc and make somethign like this. wow....
Bump Had to be bumped as this is one of the nicest mods I've seen to date, excellent work m8, love the res's. Just a pity the cathodes show up so much when switched on, would be nicer if the cathode tubes were more hidden.
thanks coorz! . . . would've done better if not for some personal problems that bogged me down . . . but, i'm still pretty happy with the results
thanks for the compliments folks! . . . really glad you guys like it and for those who thought that those reservoirs are speakers - you ain't the only ones . . . i brought this case to a local computer exhibition, one passer-by actually said "erm . . . can you turn on this Hifi, I'd like to listen how good the speakers are" . . . lolz but actually, i did plan on building speakers together with the reservoirs . . . midrange @ the base . . . and tweeters @ the top . . . had this yamaha speakers lying around . . . but too bad, didn't have enough time to do it this project was supposed to be scheduled for one month . . . but due to personal problems, i only had about slightly over 2 weeks to finish it before the competition . . . so i guess you guys can imagine how i was rushing to finish this baby . . . that's why i made some errors on it . . . and would you guys believe that the very first time i pressed the power button was at the venue on the day of the competition itself??? . . . yes sir, that's just what happened . . . luckily, it purred on and everything turned out to be fine . . . whew!
thanks dude, thats flattering anyway, the each of ccfl tubes were suppose to be hidden behind a 'L' shaped bracket . . . but the i made a mistake with the measurements, the main upper body ended up to be short . . . thus i couldn't mount the tubes 90 degrees upright . . . dang
thanks! 1) yes siree! . . . used those eheim ones, 2 pairs of 'em . . . easier to move/transport her around . . . 2) the mobo was mounted vertically, so all the i/o ports are at the bottom . . . initially, the only cable that's suppose to be there is the VGA cable . . . but due to lack of time, i wasn't able to squeeze the RF sensor for the keyboard/mouse in . . . so had to connect them outside . . . didn't really have enough time to tidy up as well . . . can you imagine, i was still hacking, drilling and sanding away on the day of the competition itself??? . . . but heck, i was glad that it reached the venue in one piece
