That looks amazing! The air-brushing really ties it all together.
If the control knob on the front had a red LED behind it, it would problably look similar to this:

On another note, reguarding the HSF, are those screws with rubber washers or are they rubber fan mounting screw things?

@ EngelMacher, thats classic!, and a great idea too. The fan is held into the shroud with plastic tabs, I drilled the new mounting holes. I've been too pre-occupied with other things to look at the shroud again this week.

We plan to paint this dude from new Wolfenstein on the "Mwhahaha Mamba" mouse!

The Mamba has a new shell design that didn't want to open in the same manner as other Razer mice. The front tabs on the shell wouldn't release, it felt like the plastic would snap. Since this was a sponsered item, I'm not about to risk breaking it @ $129 retail. So for now, masking it off is a fool proof alternative.

We should be painting the mouse either tommorow or sunday (yes, we mod on holidays too!)

Oooooo, I was thinking about picking that mouse up as a replacement to my G5. The only thing im concerned about is the weight. I can't wait to see that mouse fully painted and full of green glowing LEDs [maybe]. Keep it up! And modding is a way to celebrate freedom! Yup, thats my excuse :D

    Mod on!

Painting isn't the scary part, you can always resand it and do it over. It's the cutting thats scary. But how is cutting up and ripping apart hundreds of dollars of equipment NOT fun!?
Plus they usually turn out for the better once your done.:naughty:

@Javerh, Exactly. But not everyone is a pro like him. People like me have to start cutting up stuff sooner or later to get better:naughty:
It is always helpful to have the pros around for inspiration and advice as well as @%^& cool mods!

Do you know whats better then cutting up hundreds of dollars worth of stuff?

Doing it before everyone else can even buy it. ;)

I would love to mod and ruin expensive parts and cases... but whenever I attempt to, a red light goes off in my parents eyes as if I'm going to break and ruin it lol... Way to go, and keep it up!

@ mansueto, I started out on old junk cases, like old dells, compaqs and emachines. If you goof up, no big deal..

or when it's somebody else's equipment and you're paid to do it!

Ok, Nate was asking me, "Is the top carry handle attached yet?" and I finally did it this morning and it works great! we just need a complete system inside to carry in it! and I should have pics of the Mamba mouse's progress posted by tommorow. I'm heading over to the paint booth after posting this.

    ok two things:

    1) I'm not even going to ask if you meant what i think you meant there.

    2) bill this is a public forum, keep that in mind if you are thinking of answering his request.

    "violate" hehe..

Heres the Mamba mouse progress, Brad gave it the pose of "I WANT YOU" taken from the Uncle Sam recruiting poster used extensively during World War II.
