A real shame about the still and your bike mate. How did you fracture your rib if you don't mine me asking?

I'd like to say it was a bar brawl... but instead I get to sound like a wimp when I reveal that it was broken while playing Frisbee in the rain.

 

not really
is sounds like it was full contact frisbee
which isnt for wimps like me
but then again i wear coke bottle frames (glasses)
and im as near-sighted as a bat with out them
so that limits what i can do to a very short distance (about an arm lenght away )
so yeah
go get em champ

 

Haha... my biggest issue with Frisbee -in the rain no less- is the fact that I am blind in one eye.
It's been like that my whole life and I've lucked out in the fact that the blind eye looks perfectly normal; but it makes for a good show when I try and catch things (hence the broken bones, hahaha)

 

well at least you can half way see
i just see blobs of color
until they are in my face
and then its too late to react
so yeah

 

It's quite impressive playing frisbee with one blind eye. I can't even walk down stairs with one of my eyes closed without falling I actually fractured my rib when I fell down the stairs once, weird coincidence...

I did Foundation, Film, and now I'm in DigitalDesign... I'm one of the only poor souls to ever take on three classes.

VFS is the most amazing experience of my life - I honestly couldn't possibly speak higher of it.

 

I saw on Discovery Channel a while back and guy who only had vision in the one eye, he is a film director and got a fake eye made with a camera inside and he was going to film a movie with it.

You should get one.


As for sounding like a wimp. I broke my wrist when I tripped in the snow at school a number of years ago.

 

I agree, y'all are wimps.

Then again, I broke my big toe by kicking a friend's sole while playing football. To my defence: It was -13C and I think my toe was just frozen.

Langer, if you don't mind me asking, do you know if it is your eye that doesn't work or is it the optic nerve/ brain that won't send the signal. Because if your optic nerve still works they are developing a prosthetic eye with a camera that lets you see. It's just shapes at the moment, but as with anything technology marches on and eventually we will be replacing perfectly good eyes for fancy cameras with zoom.

Contrary to popular belief you still have depth perception with one eye, just not as good as two.

 

Man it must be hard only having 1 functional eye. I was born with only 7 toes, 4 of which needed to be removed due to growing difficulties. I was in and out of hospital and thigh high casts until I was 10.

 

I like the talk of cybernetic vision.... can I get Predator Vision?
Unfortunately it's an optic nerve problem... so rule that one out.

TBH I didn't even notice my condition for about 15years. Due to the dominance of the right eye whenever I winked or closed one eye it was always the left.

It may sound strange but I don't even notice it. As mentioned above, I've been like this since birth - I simply don't know any better.

If I had of caught it before the age of 10 I would have worn an eye patch (I missed on on the opportunity to be a pirate in grade school!!!). Unfortunately I was 5 years too late, and by the time I noticed the optic nerve had long since finished developing.


As for the website John linked.... I hang my head in shame; I REALLY need to update that with some real work.
