sent them to a local auto paint shop here in Edmonton called VANART Customs these guys have done lots of custom cars here in the city and it costs $200 for the paint job was deffinatly worth spending the money to get the car finish

that`s the best looking chrome (on the fornt panel) job i`ve seen to this date! looks amazingly well and fits - like a hightech car.
keep on (if $$ ofcourse permits - me ofcourse it does not permit... ;P) :dremel:

That black laquered front bezel looks almost kinky... sort of all curves and black PVC... :D But perhaps that's just my warped imagination. In any case it looks very pro, like one of those expensive organic HiFi speakers.

Well still waiting on parts to come in for a few projects so decided to do something tonight.

Made some of the lights for this mod as it is going to be all white lights and I really don't want to use cold cathode I decided to us strictly leds.

I had these from a previous case the housings were made by Antec they worked for a while but the original leds burned so got looking at them and they have a chrome housing which helps to spread the light from the leds.

So seeing as some of the leds were burned out anyways why not put it to good use and switch all the leds for white ones see if we can get the light we need.

Here are some shots of the White led's in this these are bright they will light up the inside of the case really well and I have 2 of them. :cooldude:

I know there is one led missing time to go to the supplier and get some more I don't know what it is but seem I buy lots and never have enough always end up needing one or two at the worst time.

Well that is it for now should give you a better idea on the lighting.

I will be getting the other side panel back from the paint shop on Monday and will be getting some smoked plexy for the windows on Monday as well so will try and get some pics of these posted then.

Till then have fun and keep modding

Why didn't they color sand it? Got some mean orange peel effect.

Yah was looking at that in the photos it does look a little off but in person it doesn't look as bad guess the camera is picking up stuff i can't see but the paint shop has said that they are willling to redo them but because of time constraints on this i am going to have to take them this way and maybe look at it after the show in July.

But it still looks good and maybe after a good waxing should look even better.

just wondering, are your side panel reflections all distorted looking in real life or just the pics?

btw, nice job on the duct molding... i'm trying to get mine to be perfectly smooth and it's not easy at all... did you just use bondo? and how do you get rid of small imperfections? Spot putty doesn't seem to want to do the trick even...

The bondo work was just about time and lots of sanding and patience but it was worth it as for the panels the don't look as distorted in person i still have to use a rubbing compound and wax them so they should come out nice then this just letting the paint cure for a few days before doing this.

Pacience is indeed the key, just like in project divergence...
