    Update (19-Aug-07): Outer Panels

Just a small update today; but it give a good perspective of what the finished product will look like

Sanded the edges to blend the corners together
    [IMG]

Assembled the panels with switches and FPIO to give an idea of how the case will look
    [IMG]

I still have to polish up the edges and install the drive bays; then the case itself will be basically complete.

I'm still waiting on an LED indicator (will go in above the switches) for HDD activity.

    Switches are for:
    • Power w/ power indicator
    • Reset
    • CD eject w/ CD activity
    • UV CCFL
    • Red CCFL
    • Fan lighting
    • Case feet lighting

Nice project you are working on here radodrill. I have a question about those Kameleon fans. Do they light up good enough to light up a (part of) a case? I'm not sure which fan to get, Kameleon or just the blue/blue UVLED Blackfire4 fans. I want them to light up very good.

Thanks; The UV LEDs and CCFLs don't provide a lot of visible light. Even blue LED fans usually don't provide too much in terms of case lighting. To produce a nice glow I'd us3e either UV CCFL along with UV reactive components; or colored CCFLs and/or LEDs

Just going to glue the bays to the front panel. I still have to finish polishing the edges before I get to that though.

    Petra's Tech Shop Sponsorship

I've also received support from Petra's Tech Shop

Here's what they sent me: Acrylic LED case feet, 3x 120mm chrome fan grills, and water additives (Biocide & Blue, Green, and Red dyes)

The LED feet and wiring harnesses
    [IMG]

    Case feet in action
    [IMG]

One drawback to the controller for the LEDs is that it defaults to a flashing mode when it's turned on; but I'll be eliminating the controller and connecting them directly to a switched 12V line, so that won't be an issue for me.
