Becasue the slot DVD-ROM tray would be too far forward for the plexi to sit comfortably over it, I had to modify the holding plates slightly, so that it goes further back when you slide the drive in (All drives in the CM Stacker are able to be pulled in and out of the case).
    From this

To this, not entirely neat but this will cannot be seen in the case anyway, and it does the job!

Now the plexi sits comfortably over the front panel

Now, the exciting part - the mechanical draw!

The motor ripped from the old cd-drive and cut up nicely around the edges.

Wired it up to DPDT switch, thanks to OmegaX, nleahcim and ARM for helping me out on this!

Came across this little critter whilst soldering, don't know what it is, but it's got a hard shell on it, and its not a spider, it has only 6 legs

    The motor boxed up nicely

And stuck to this. This won't be seen, it is in a spare space next to the memory card reader and in front of the on/off switch for the computer
    [IMG]
    The tray in the making
    [IMG]
    The mess of cutting!

Unfortunatly, I put sellotape onto the plastic to stop the scrathes as the original cover came off. Bad idea, the sticky part of the cheap sellotape seem to have stuck onto the plexi
    [IMG]
Nothing a good old soapy wash won't take off!

Better! And the rails stuck to the tray
    [IMG]
A little bit of plexi to allow the drive to move smoothly

And here it is (minus the bezel), ignore the red tape!

The tray is far from complete, I'm gonna add some lube to quieten it down and polish the plexi. Here is a movie of the tray in action! Clicky - using a friend's server here.

Nice! If you are an electronics person then that could be done, would be cool too! Be sure to post that in this thread!

If I get my slot loading DVD-RW tomorrow and get the 400g sandpaper I may be able to finish the front panel with the finished edges, by tomorrow evening!

    PSOne screen implemented!

Bit of threading to help the scews go in straight

And some sanding with 400g then 150g sandpaper, then some polish, the plastic edges for the PSOne screen comes out nice and shiney, not sure if you can see the shineyness with this camera :(
    [IMG]
Using some heavy dute double sided tape

    And looks like a TV!

Cutting the tape for the mounting brackets with a 35 year old knife - jeez, its older than me!

    Brackets in

And screen mounted! The masking tape is just to hold the protector for the screen for now

Wired up to a hole at the back (already there, a perfect fit!)

Now, I assume this would be safe to do:
Wiring the PSOne screen to the 12v and the mechanical draw to the 5v, on the same molex?

yeah having them on the same molex is fine, just dont forget the the psone screen takes 7.5 volts through a voltage regulator and wont like getting the full 12 volts. Im sure you allready knew this, but i just want to be sure

I've got the PSOne car adaptor sorted! It's hidden at the bottom of the case!

Does anyone know if they get hot? Cos it's gonna be right under the HDD cage.

EDIT: Decided there were too many pics, so put the less important ones into a link.

nope marquee its the other way around. you're probably thinking of the fan headers on the motherboard, but thats not exactly it either.

So I get my new slot loading dual layer DVD-RW yesterday, and its real nice! Works beautifully too!

I got the memory card reader today. So hopefully I should be able to finish the front of the case by tomoorw. :)

    Now..

This is the HSF I ordered a while ago on reccomondation of this article I really like this HSF, however it is BLOO. The rest of my case is red and black with some silver. I think blue will just look out of place. This heatsink seems to be really good (paid nearly £30 for it) but do you think it should go and I should get a different one?

If I do sell it, it'll be for about £30 inc as its never been used and is only a few weeks old!

You mean the case skin? Some photoshopping with precise measurements, then this will be sent off to polygfx in America to be printed. However their site has been down for about 6 weeks, the guy keeps saying it will be up soon, but it ain't. So I've emailed again yesterday.

I can't really mount the fans until the case skin is put on, likewise I cannot cut the side panel until I get the case skin. :(

What do you think about the HSF, get rid of it?

    EDIT:

On second thoughts, I wonder if it would be possible for me to get rid of the blue plastic - vinyl dye? And replace the blue LEDs with red ones?
