Take another look, the PC has a PCI-slot. I am using it for the wireless NIC in the picture. (low-profile to fit under the heatsink) BBurger: The Zalman is very quiet, you don't have to run it very fast to get good tempatures. At full speed it's about as loud as a normal 120mm fan. Firehed: That 32MB compact flash card is a DOS boot disk with utilites for flashing the BIOS and etc... I use a SD 512MB Sandisk Ultra-II in my camera...if you can't figure out why it's not in the photograph... theagent: Not as much as you would think. The laser is more accurate and makes nice clean cuts, but it does not save any time, it probably takes three times as long when you consider the amount of measuring, design, and prototyping it takes to make the laser put out one cut item. It's great for mass production, but not for customization. Also as posted before, the laser has been the property of my parents business for a while now, so I actualy don't use it much at all anymore. It's handy for doing things that are accurate, but the dremel is still my favorite and most used tool.
The above is about as signifigant as it's going to get for a while. I have until August to finish the PC.
This is a really nice start, always enjoy your mods very much ZapWizard. Ill sure keep an eye out on this mod and it doesnt matter how long it takes, Ill bet the result will be completely AMAZING!
As always your project is a masterpiece, the ingenuity is astounding! But please do not let your modding interfere with your work, find another job mate! And make it a good one so we can enjoy your wast modding potential on a big budget!
Well folks this project is still going, a bit slow though. I only have about a month to get it done now, so progress will be moving along soon. Here is something I did manage to get done: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=93499 ----- Off-topic I do have a new job. It's for a company called Netstreams. They do whole-house-audio over IP, some very cool stuff.
Very cool! Does the scroll wheel still work right with the wood covering it? I can't even use mine wearing gloves...
OMGWTFBBQHAX, Nice Ipod Man, although i still prefer my creative jukebox zen /edit what happens if you need a warrenty for your ipod
YOu p'ut the original cover back on it and put everything back how you recieved it and they willl never know the difference except for some wood shaving .
Stuntman wets himself from the site of that iPod. "Nice work mate!" says Stuntman while giving Zap a thumbs up.
Yes. There is one ~1/8" spot that doesn't work that I think is due to the gap in the two pieces of tape used to hold it on, other then that it's fine. Warrenty..modders don't need no stinken warrenties. (Heck I took this iPod apart the first day I had it)
Now that is good news! Maybe they'll need you to build a tasty looking HTPC for exhibitions? Mod on, Zap.
Dude, looking back at Zap's project logs, do you honestly think he'd need the warranty? Heck no. The guy's a genius. Kudos, Zap. The project and the iPod are incredible. Congrats on the job and can't wait to see how this wraps up in the next few months. Mod on.
