Just built my first computer, and bought a Fractal R2 case so thought I would try find some more photos of it and this turned up on google, your thread has really gotten me interested in modding now, might have to give a few things a try.

Real nice clean work you've done.
    Nice one.

    Glamour shots:
Wow, that took me a while huh?

Actually, I spent a lot of time doing research about backdrops, studio lightning and other photography stuff.

On top of that, I have made myself a really good retractable black backdrop.
When I was done with the backdrop, it was time for me to start working… I got a job for the holliday in a printing shop. We printed the images on cans (paint cans etc.).

Every day I had to work, the weather was great. And every day I was free, it was raining…
    Bad timing… At it’s worst.

So finally, one day, the weather was good./ The sun was shining, it was dry and best of all, the sky was clear.

I took my backdrop outside, put a small table in front of it and covered that with black cloth.
Put my case on the table, and started shooting.

    These are the result.

I love how the sidepanel is matte, and the window in it is so glossy it reflects the surroundings.

The front ports and buttons. You can also see the orange plexi line across the front panel in this shot.

Close up of the power button. In black and white.

A shot of the window, and the parts in the case.

And that’s it, this project is done.

I would like to thank my sponsors once again, without you this project would not have been possible!

Really nice, just one thing that bother me, I think the little plexy clip on top of the door, next to the start buton should de orange, but I don't know if it can easily be changed.

Really nice and clean :) glad its all done, an excellent result. Well done sir.
Please replace the black fan screws in the top for new ones which aren't showing silver through rounding off. I'm slightly OCD about stuff like that lol

    Thanks!
I tried changing it, but the clip is attached to the ring around the button. That would mean I would have had to recreate all of that, and with basic tools that would have been nearly impossible.

    Thank you!
Ghehe, me 2 but I don't have any more of those black screws.
    Nothing a sharpie/permanent black marker can't fix though... ;)

Maybe even something similar to this
    Posidrive Screw Caps

Cover the screws entirely and make them look nice and clean although i dont know how much they protrude above flush.

That looks really good and the photography is great!
Only thing that bugs me is the dust on the final pics, and the wires you can see from the fans :p

    Thanks man!
    Thanks dude!
Me too, but when I was cleaning the case with microfibre cloth, I think i charged the frontpanel a bit.. Thus attracting dust :(

It's seriously a good case. One of the better ones I've used!

Im looking into the define XL for a mod I have in mind and as its fairly similar to the r2 I wanted to know if there were any rivets in the case? from what I can work out from your description there aren't but just like to be certain (want to keep costs down and new tools seem an unnecessary expense)

Love reverse edition btw it's just so..... No word I can think of is good enough to describe it damn you OED and your limited vocabulary!
