I scrolled up to see what would be good-looking on this case. The only way to make the knob really match the case it to make it yourself. Here's my best shot at describing the ideal one:

The countersunk idea above is really good. It allows you to stealth the knob. You could further stealth it by painting it the same pitch-black as the rest of the case. On the surface of the knob, scrape out a little dent that a fingertip fits inside. Place the dent away from the middle, so you can use that to turn the knob. Resist the temptation to insert a red LED somewhere!

If you really insist, you could use the rogue-logo you made in the sidegrill. Sink it into the knob, straight with the button in neutral position. Red light on that, and you have the best possible knob in this universe and the next.

Good luck on that or the hunt :thumb:

Great ideas! I'm looking to make the hole, and work on the countersink tonight. I've found some knobs that should work. They are aluminum (colored), but can easily be painted to match the case. As far as inserting a LED somewhere... I'll try not to do that... :D

The Rogue logo would look pretty cool, but it would probably drive me more crazy than anything. The Powermate doesn't really have a neutral position. It will spin infinitely... I doubt the logo would be right-side up very often.

Can you still get to your pico-itx board?? I was wondering if you could get a measurement of the thickest part, which I believe it at the battery holder? I can't find that measurement any where on the net. I'm hoping it comes in at under 3 centimeters. I'm thinking about putting one into an empty linksys cable modem box for my home networks firewall box. As it stands I'm using an ibm e-series server to do that, and that's a bit over kill.

    You did beat me! :D

If that link doesn't help you, I'd be happy to measure it for you. It's sitting on my kitchen counter, and acting as my main rig, until the Rogue is running...

if you do decide to make a knob for yourself how about using Xtrafresh's idea but put a little led in the indentation on the knob? so you can find it at night without searching.

Yea, that link doesn't help. I know the length, width, just not the thickness. The pdf doesn't have it either.

    Sweet! Thanks!

Hey wait! Looking over the pdf again, it gives heights. Looks like total height will be 28mm, if you would, could you confirm that with your board?

I need to be careful not to 'bling' the machine out. I'm trying for a subtle, but sinister and bad-ass look. If I light anything up at all, it may be in the form of a subtle acrylic ring beneath the knob... I've got to get the hole made, then I'll probably do some careful consideration at that point. :thumb:

Not sure what's up with the pdf, but it's more like 37mm according to my measurements...

Crap!! That won't fit... Is it the battery holder that's causing the largest bump on the bottom? Hey, thanks for the info by the way.

It's most definitely the battery holder. It's only around 25mm otherwise.
