Ok all, the plexi is here, some of the LEDs are on their way, and the pics will be going up starting this weekend (I hope!). I'm starting on building a new case from scratch!

It will start out as a simple dark-tinted acrylic cube, 12.5" each way (which is a bit larger than my last build, which measured 10.5") edged with polished aluminum. It will look a little more unusual, though, as the motherboard will be suspended in the middle of the case, and the (majority of the) drives on the bottom. It will also contain a minimum of 6 fans, at least one of which will be piped directly to the processor to give that breath of fresh air. Finally, and the whole reason that I'm building instead of just modding, I wanted much better access to my components...so the case will include a rather unique way of opening that should make everything easily accessible with no "tight fits."

Once the case is built, the modding will begin (well, I wonder if it's modding if it's a custom case to start?). There will be a custom rheobus built into the case to control all of the fans, along with a few temp sensors and a backlit LCD screen. UV lighting and super blue LEDs will be plentiful. And, when my electrical engineer friend and I get done, there will be a custom built peltier unit that takes away a lot of the dangers of TEC cooling.

I hope you all will offer comments, ideas, and criticisms as I build this thing...It's been a while and the technology and techniques have changed a bit on me! :)
