And here I am thinking my ~500mb is beefy, not anymore :waah:

Those Maxtor drives are nice (I have 2x 160s as well), but they do run a bit hot. I had to move a fan into the front of my case to keep them from overheating :(

Looks like a great project :thumb:

Your frame and your layout are top notch! when I saw the pic of the TFT mounted in the frame I was like :jawdrop: ...

Your choice of skinning material suits you I hope - I personally don't care for the look of patterned metal.

What do you have left to do? - it looked pretty complete in the last shot...

Thanks for the comments guys...I'll do my best to answer your questions.

Iamgoodyy Thanks...all my cases seem to end up having a smiley face...I guess it's 'cos I like symmetry. I only added the top fan over the PSU to even things out...I don't think it's really needed.

    RAMeLaiR Cheers mate :thumb:

olv Thanks...it took an awfull lot of filling to get it to that stage.

fivecheebs If only I'd have had my magic torch it might have been a quicker job :D

Cyberbob:) Thanks mate...I too can't wait to fire it up :p the steel tubing came from B&Q and the corner joints I ordered from a company called Ross Handling. They have a minimum order value but it's pretty low.

sinizterguy Cheers...I used the blanking plate from the shuttle case as a template, then roughed it out using a drill with various sized bits and finished it off with lots and lots of filling.

bard Thanks...TBH I do not know if the airflow will be enough but it should be. As for colour I am thinking green...or maybe blue..or possible red. Hmmm...decisions...decisions. What do you think ?

pranks7er It took my about 3-4 hours of messing around with SketchUp and going through the tutorials before making a start on the model of the case. So...yep it's pretty easy.

ernie 130gigs and growing. I have ripped all of my own CD's and download approx 1-2 albums a week of the net :naughty:

Yo-DUH_87 Yep they do run a little hot hence placing the 120mm fan directly in front of them.

RaptorLord I too was unsure about using the texture stuff again but I had lots let over so it seemed daft not to use it. I was planning on painting the whole thing black but am not sure now.

    Still To Do

I have quiet a few small jobs let to do. The main structure is now complete but I have to:

    Mount the VFD
Obtain 2 more 80mm fans for the top
Decide whether or not to trim all the cut outs with blowhole trim
    Finish the PSU
    Sort out a fan controller
Decide what to do about the cutout for the DVD/CD-RW
Work out what colour lighting to use
Wire up the TFT to both power and VGA
...and some other stuff that I can't think of right now.

    Cheers, CC

I could have lent you mine mate. Let me know next time you need one and ill email it to you

For what its worth. I like the idea of it painted black, or maybe that anodized look paint i saw someone mention around here. I dont like that plastic blowhole trim much but thats just me. Your cuts look really neat so why hide them.

Looking forward to the rest mate.

Dude that looks amazing. Although doesn't that huge Zalman heatsink take up most of the room inside the back of the case?

Do you have any pics of when you were bending the top/side panel? I would like to understand the process more. It looks very nice!

Just a small update...will answer questions later :D

Was not sure about putting blow hole trim around all the openings but after spending a hour or so wrestling with the stuff it's on and looks tops

It seems to highlight everything nicely and makes the metal work stand out more.

I am now toying with the idea of sticking these handles on the top of the case...what do you guys think.

    Nice ! ! !

That blow hole trim really does finish it off....

And yes the handles on top really does add to it....

    I'd go for that.

Got my documentation today from ross handlings......My turn next. Not yet thou going on hols first, will start it when I get back hopefully. Also hoping to buy a digital camera while i'm away.

    Keep up the good work.....:D
