What is this? I go away for a couple of weeks for work and come back to a MOTM nomination? I should go away more often. Fortunately, before I went away I put a whole lot of work in. I now actually have a working computer, which I find is a pretty impressive milestone.

Here is Shattered Horizon as she stands:

What caused this burst of productivity you ask? Well, that would have been the arrival of these beauties in the mail.

A pair of generation 2 Intel SSDs. I was originally going to only get one, but it turned out that there was a sweet spot in the shipping costs at 3 units... So, all in all, I saved myself $8 on shipping to purchase another $300 disk... Putting it like that, I did in fact make a $292 loss. Actually, given that I have already used 80GB of the RAID array, two was a good idea (My Steam folder is 60GB...).

So, more pictures of where I am at. I mounted those SSDs.

And, more noticeably, I plumbed the system.

I am fairly happy with how the tubing routing turned out. I very much like the way that the two bottom tubes mimic each other, albeit with a small offset. My only small issue is that I am not sure if I can fit a rear fan past the tubing that is running up the corner. Oh well, I suppose I will find out soon.
I love the way the cable routing holes came out, the hide all the unnecessary cables wonderfully, though you cannot see all of the ridiculous sleeving that I did. Eh, I know it is there... or here.

That is a mess isn't it? Oh well, nothing a solid side panel can't fix. Speaking of side panels, I got started on one.

It is still missing some mounting bits, but that one is pretty much finished. The one for the other side is still just square cut to approximate size.
That pattern that you see on the front is a vent. I must admit that I stole the idea of a stylised line vent from Murdermod, but I think mine is suitably different. Since nothing thus far really pushed the 'Shattered Horizon' name, a vanishing point motif was appropriate here.

I also finished the PSU mounting plate. Power now works like this (I wasn't prepared to solder an AC passthrough to the inside of the PSU... A little too extreme for me...)

    So, thanks for the support,

    Laz
