This case is mainly for function over form, but the eventual finish will be satin black, with alu trim, and domed, stainless steel hex bolts.

Its a 3 part construction, Bottom 1/2 & front, mobo tray, and top.

Here is a link to what i'll be using in the top to cool the cpu.

Here's a pic of the very early stage of the bottom section:

Below its had a very quick coat of matt black paint to give it a more solid look to help me visualise/work on it:

The whole lot will be sandblasted before finally being painted after all construction is complete.

    Minor Update.

Cut some of the aluminium edging, test fitting 3 sections:

Need a small amount of filing and sanding before bolting these peices in place, and working on the next peices.

I do play in lans when i can yes.

That coat of paint will be coming off before the case is finished. Its just to give it a solid look, rather than clear.

The final finish will be satin black, with as good a finish as I can get.

Good start Dan, though it needed bumping :D

    Q. What kind of paint are / will you be using for the satin black finish?

Decided against satin now mate, long story (ish).

cant be bothered with the perspex anymore, too much hassle, kept cracking etc..., so today i went to a builders merchants and bought a 1mx2mx2mm aluminium sheet, going to use that for all the panels instead.

The finish will now be either:
    Sandblasted
    Brushed
    Gloss Black
    Hammerrite Gloss Black

    Most likely brushed :D

Started the cutting of the aluminium today. By hand its more tiring than i expected, once its in peices small enough to fit in the car I can hopefully take it to a bandsaw :)

    Piccies later hopefully.

Thats a view from the "tool-mark" side, before i deburred the sawcuts. Hopefully I can do the rest of the cuts on a bandsaw now i can transport it.
