Hey, it's not a COMPUTER mod, but still... :p

Here's my amazingly cheap/crap CD player in all its glory (to give you an idea of how cheap it was, the CD cost more than the player....):

    Now to disassemble it...

Next up - sanding off all that horrible silver coating stuff :wallbash:

The plan is to spray the lid annd bottom part dark metallic blue, and leaving the middle bit silver.

I'm thinking of maybe putting a window in it, but that could be a bit over-the-top. What do you all think? :p

Argh! Think your piccies need a slight resize chap!

How about a window with an etch and an LED or two lighting it up? As long as you're using rechargeable batteries and not buying new jobs everytime, using a little more power should be fine. Although electronics isn't and has never been my forté :)

    Resized :)

I'm still pondering a window, might or might not do one.

Anyway, small update - I've sanded the nasty silver coating off all the bits i'm gonna be painting:

    SO, that's progress then...

Also, I've recovered my paint from Mount. Mess (my desk)

    Next up: Primer.....

The window idea's kinda difficult to implement due to the slight cure of the lid, so I'm just gonna leave it out :bleh:.

I'm wating for the garage to be empty so I can spray in there.

Hopefully I should be able to apply the primer taday after school, though :)
