clown, how about white paint on the insides? It would reflect the light nicely and would contrast really well with the black.
Dont know if painting inside is worth it. When the machine aint on, the insides will be barely visible (I hope at least) because of the tint on the windows. And once powered up, will have two LED fans, and two CCFL's on the inside (maybe some LEDs too) so I dont know if it is going to be visible, I will just have to see once I get all the lighting sorted (ie. it actually arrives ) White would work well though ! -cLoWn /Edit - 2nd Page
I think I can safely say I am well over due for an update...... and I think I shall disapoint in some ways unfortunatly Firstly, my CCFLs and EL wire still havnt turned up, they got delayed in customs getting to the company I ordered them from, but, they say they are now on there way...... I am not holding my breathe tbh. Secondly, I havnt had much time for modding, my long hour'd evening job plus school work has left my with zero time! But, next week is my last week at my evening job, so I shall have lots more time during the week for school work, leaving the work free for the more important things, moddin'!! And finally, I got my pay cheque and my money goes into my account tomorrow. So tonight, I went looking at the best bits I can get for my money: 1 x AMD Athlon XP2500+ Barton Core 1 x Western Digital Cavier SE 80Gb 7200rpm 8mb Cache Hard Drive 2 x Crucial DDR 512mb PC2700 1 x Benq 52x Internal IDE CD-ROM 1 x Sapphire Radeon 9600PRO 128MB That all comes out at around £420, inculding postage The CD-Rom is being swopped with my dads, dont ask why he has a black Rom drive in his machine, he just does, but this will aid me and him. His computer wont look silly anymore, and when my rom drive is ejected it will be black, not biege. I didnt get a CD-R/W because I wanted to spend the money else where, and also it will be networked to two computers that both have them, so no massive lose tbh. The arrival of the above parts, and my CFFLs (fingers crossed) will spur me on to complete my planned mods! Updates as soon as I get time -cLoWn
Pretty nice dude, I like it alot. I have had the pleasure of fixing my buddies shuttle and it does get cramped inside, not my idea of 'modding nirvana' as I got bigish hands, specially if I tried to get everything I wanted in it. However I'm trying to coax my buddy to do a 'Skyline' mod on his shuttle since he loves 'em... car paint and the works! Ohh well keep up the great work dude!
The inside is very crampted yes, but then the over thing is nice n small. I would never dream of paintin the outside of mine, it is brushed black ally too luvly to even dream of painting! -cLoWn
Of course not, I didn't suggest you should Black alu is sexiest on its own, I should know, I love my brushed lian li box....Can't wait for more updates PS. you can save some space on the inside if you go SATA, just a leetle bit of space for at least airflow (if any...tbh its so cramped is there any at all?!?)
Nice ! I want one of those Shuttle too why do they have to be so damn expensive ? bsodmike : who's that chic you use as an avatar ? suuuweet ! Cheers [DE]FreD_S
Motherboard doesnt support SATA, and its expensive . I am guna have to use an IDE cable for the Rom drive so I dont see much gain by the SATA anyway. Theory is there thou Black alu is very sexy, my fan grill looks in person! They are kinda expensive, this box going to cost me around £600-£700 (where the hell did I get £700 from i duno) -cLoWn
Tonight I, grabbed my plexi and my tint, and was determind to do something towards the project. Following all the advise of people on this site, and my dads friends down the windowing tinting place, I went ahead, lots of water, cleaning, and away I went. Guess what?? I messed it right up, on both pieces . What looks like tiny bubbles are I am assured dirt. (I did spend ages cleaning the surfaces, but they were rather dirty, I should have stored them better) Assured by my dads friend from the window tinting place. So off came the tint **rip**. And in went the windows to a bowl of water and washing up liquid. This is ment to get rid of the glue left behind by the tint. Tomorrow afternoon the windows will take a nice trip down to the window tinting place, and will be done by a proffessional. Results tomorrow night, Pics, erm, when I get round to it -cLoWn
Yeh messing up the window tint is all part of the fun, I had to do 3 windows to get one that looked good. I found it easiest if I added some washing up liquid to the water when applying the tint, it trial and error I'm afraid.
I did has a drop of washing up liquid in my water . I am a perfectionist though, and I didnt see what I did wrong . So I will let the "professional" have a go, see if he can make a better job of it ! Also, I did not want to cut out my windows again, and they are rather thin, pulling the tint on and off was not something I wanted to be doing a lot -cLoWn
For whoever is still lurkin out there watching this log..... Ok, so the webmaster of PSo was telling me to get on and mod, I was home early from school this afternoon, had an hour or so, so I did. And here is the outcome! Windows Tinted and Finished: Then I put them in the case. I still have to handle these a lot and stuff, so I havnt cleaned them up much, they will be properly cleaned and most likly polished when everything planned is done. Both: Top: Side: -cLoWn
Dude, don't be so hard on yourself. Don't say you can't make it as nice as ZapWizard's. I'm sure you can, just in your personal way. Don't be discouraged by the gods, be inspired by them. It looks good so far
CrazyIvan how do you its mike???? Are you magic? Thanks guys, for all your comments! Did some more work on the project today, the parts taking forever to get here , but they said by Wednesday, so, I have my fingers crossed. -cLoWn
