Ok here i am with my first modding project. First a little intruduction on my self. My name is sebastian, i am 24 and a first year student of elektronics in the beautiful city of helsinki. For those who dont know thats in finland and so please forgive any fail spelling. If you find failures, can you keep them. On to the modding part. My plan is turning this old Oscilloscope into a lan rig. The specs gonne be: Chip A64 X2 MoBo ??? GFX Something on the line of x1800 Slim line Dvd/cd-rw 200 gig hdd Now some teasers. sorry for the bad pics but my cam is cheap #¤%& The all over theme is to keep it as close as possible on the original. So no fancy lighting ( i am sorry ), but i got some gimmicks up my sleave for the front . If you got ideas or suggestions feel free to post them. Thats all for today more updates later on. antiHero
Damn, original idea as far as I see it .. Would be cool to add a lcd to the front bezel where the oscilloscope used to be
Interesting .. cant wait to hear (and see) some more of the features that are gonna be on this mod. You also want to keep the front intact I suppose. So maybe you where thinking about mounting the cd or whatever player in the side? Im very curious
put a lcd where the monitor used to be on the machine. This way you could have a hardware monitoring lcd. I recomend a ps1 lcd easily hooked up to the tv out and a samurise skin in the second lcd. Thats how I run myne. Im looking forward to seeing this thing.
i planed on putting a psone lcd there, only have to wait until i get mine from iamgoodyy. the dvd/cd-rw is gonne sit in the lower middle under the lcd.
Oscilloscopes are used in making the movements of electrons viewable. In easy: Lets yo usee the pulse movement of electricity. Or that's what I think.
a liitle update for you guys. i just came home from K-Rauta which is the finnish version of home depot or any other tool/parts shop and spend 40 bucks on sheet metall, pipes and other stuff for the build. so stay tuned for new pics.
ok here the first real update. started the work today after i got some stuff as you can see. thats sheet aluminium and 8mm alu pipe. the second rod is a screw rod, dont know really whats the name in english but its just like a screw only long. the motherboard tray and the other parts gonne be in differnt levels as a sandwich. got the first part done today.the screw rod go`s inside the pipe for better look. ok thats it for today. any commets or suggestens are welcome.
