YAY!!! Thought this project was dead.. Glad to se its up running again. And I'm shure it will turn out good. Just keep it going and the luck will come hand in hand. /GNU
cool looking mod! Hope you are able to find some time to update again soon I've been thinking about doing the same thing as you have here with those long bolts and some sort of piping to hide them. I'm just not sure how to attach it to the top. How are you planning on doing this? .:subscribed:.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one. I saw a load of scanners/monitors being thrown out of a hospital where I was working, looked perfect for modding, but I would have been dead if I'd taken 'more junk' home. Can't wait to see this one done
Thanks everyone. A lil update in verbal form as nothing really to show. I spend the last days with cutting out the backplate and i tell you it makes me poor . To many Dremel disks had to die becouse of my failure in messuring. Anyway i am about 80% done and i show pics as soon there is something decent to show! antiHero out!
Once again its update time. I know its been a long time, but i have been very busy with schoolwork and real life. Also i wanted to finish my current setup which you can see in the Room+Computer thread. So enough of the talking on with the Modding As you maybe recall i had plans to implement Front ports under the LCD. I already cut out the place for a normal front port connector when I got this: Its Silverstone FP 32 B which i got from my Silverstone LC17B case. So i gone remake the front to fit a 3.5" slot. That took alot of dremelwork and filling. I moant already so many times about the thick Alu and i do it again! Its jsut not fun to work with Anyway 30mins, 5 heavy duty disks and a soar wrist later i had this: A nice square hole for the front bay. Next up the support brackets. I used the same 1.5mm angle stuff i used for the Slim drive. First some measuring some more measuring and then after some cutting and filling i have 2 nice brackets. Now i gone make a fast forward as i forgot to take pics Here you see the final product. Enjoy That it for today. I hope to get more work done the next day, but dont quote me on that See you next time. antiHero out!
you were busy with real life... as opposed to fake life? looks like a very nice build. You still havent said what the front LCD is going to display though...
There was one oscilloscope-PC on asm'06! http://www.modifyit.net/stuff/crew.jpg and some more images http://www.modifyit.net/~ku0008/scope/ though that also acted as an oscilloscope (modified sound card) and didn't just use the chassis from one. Good work so far, it's always nice when one can use an existing case instead of making one from scratch, makes it so much easier to make it look nice Also atleast the front panel seems to be aluminum... Nice indeed.
Thanks for the reply`s. @ Damouse I gone show system Stats on the LCD ether with Samurize or Sysmetrix. @ Jipa Yeah i heard about the Oszi PC at Assembly. Would be nice to see some more pics of it.
Looking nice! How long are the blue cables that are attached to "Silverstone FP 32 B" ? Might just have to get 2x of those
I'm interested in how your going to cool that thing but I'm still trying to get my jaw to close at the idea. H.B.
