Killer post, dude. Care to share some details? How is the skull painted? What is it made of? How did you attach it?
The skull was dremmeled in halh (natch!) then attached to the front door with Goop adhesive, the molding around the edge done with JBWeld and any imperfections smoothed out with pollyfilla and sanded. The chroming is Krylon "Original Chrome" hobby paint.
that's a beauty... is that the "hydraulic" case? if so, I noticed you took off the bottom part of the bezel... good idea... looks good.
yep, She started life as a color Hydraulic case from Directron, courtesy of the fine folks at Modthebox , the same case as being discussed here in a different thread. Oh yeah.....big BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO leds in the eyes to light up when its powered
how did you handle the wiring to the eye-led's with that sliding panel? You must have give the wiring quite a bit of play... would love to see some dark shots with the eyes on..
as much as i love blooooooooooo. that skull needs red eyes. and maybe a 10 second wave file of it laughing. nice work so far. btw are those all toggle switches on the bottom half?
No lighted shots yet...she's not wired up.... no, all the bottom stuff is blue leds, HD activity (knight rider style) on the left and nic, fan controller and a case speaker LED on the right.
Lookin' good. I love skulls, (dunno why. Probably best not to know). Hmm..In your first pic, is it me or does the skull look very worried?
In what? Sweet look, I've considered molding shtuff into the case, but don't know what materials to use. Been at the back of my mind ever since seeing the alien case.
Sorry, typo...dremmeled in half, it started out as a full skull piggy bank... the power and reset buttons are hidden behind the sliding door. You know what macroman, you may be right...I never noticed it before...maybe he's contemplating what I'm gonna do to him next?
