Wow, sorry if I made you angry somehow. Or i'm looking wrong at your caps lock use. Seemed to me like you were made of money with the costs of the etching etc. :sigh: (On both projects)
I never trust factory reviews and if you look at aerocool.us you'll see there are no db rates given.Only kinda of manipulated reviews. Nor high nor low db levels shown. Only 'Quiet'. Recon ,RPM up to 2500rpm ,Air Flow 27.6cfm ,Noise Level 24.6dba or higher on it. Atleast if they are fans of Aerocool themselves.

The same with the Ultra Products.
Later I found a review claiming a db of over 55!!! from 1" distance ofcourse.

Back to the Aerocool, it's a nice PSU. 3Fans though already say it get's hot at high usage. I really, really, really recommend you to do this:

No it isn't a excuse that you don't want to put the time effort and costs in it.
Wake up the child in you and show me what you can accomplish besides chroming everything so much. :thumb:

And don't think i'm flaming fool for saying this stuff. I really like your mod. I don't post alot and mostly only where I see a real potential. You rock! :cooldude: keep it going!

I'd say so. The etching isn't much, IIRC they charge/charged something like $20USD for the etching.

On the PSU side of things I only use Forton/Sparkle/Enermax after I had an Antec blow out on me killing an HD.

No..I am not angry at all, I was just playing.... 55db is pretty loud. I actually need a length measurement for whatever PSU I end up with. The case is compact and I may have a problem with a long PSU hitting the reservoir. As for "being made of money" I wish. This case is not mine, and while I have a free hand in building it..I am not paying for it.

    Silverstone Cases

Mate, will be following with interest...

Yup, I got one too. Case arrived the other day, I just need to learn to solder properly and do some peliminary testing / fabricating before I post a project log. Oh, and from the look of the above image learning to take a 'proper' photo might not be a bad idea either......

As always, I'm enjoying the chrome and water cooling. Bring it on!

Tisn't very tall or deep, but it is 44 1/2 feet wide. :) I can hide undergraduates in there and everything!

EDIT: UK supply of UV acrylic sheets (various colours) can be found at www.glowshop.com

    2/14/05 Update

The power supply for the project is the AeroCool black/silver line (550W).
No major mods on the unit. I cable sleeved/heatshrinked the wiring black on black and changed the chrome fan grills for black powder coated ones.

An Aqua-Computer PSU/Radiator grill was dremeled for it's top half (which will be chrome plated).

Moving on (or should I say back) to the top of the case and it's acrylic reservoir mount. I cut the hole needed in the green acrylic window and drilled the four mounting bolt holes for the units top plate.

    I also ran across these.
They are carbon fiber isolation feet for high-end stereo equipment made by
Black Diamond Racing. I only needed to inlarge the case's stock feet mounting holes for the new ones.

They will work out well in this application, I only need to get a few bolts to install them. That will do it for today. I have some more work to show you, Aqua-Computer radiator mounted and the interior of the case being painted satin black. Soon..

I like those feets! Usually there are only sharp feets, but those seem to be nicer. Sharps make nasty marks to table or floor...

You read/looked at this update and your reaction is "they don't look like CF to me"? Nothing else. Love/hate the look of the BOX?
I am no CB expert..All of Black Diamond Racing's stuff is carbon fiber. I can say they look like plastic (no weave/pattern), but feel like "something else" very heavy. There density is not equal to that of the size/shape of plastic.. It seems Black Diamond Racing does not have a website, but here is some information.

Love it :) Isn't the UV green tubing in a UV green window a bit... well... redundant? Still, good rad choice :thumb:
