Progess: Managed about (6) hours of work this past-Monday. Installed the last two pieces of hardware for the machine. The Aqua-Computer Aquaero VFD and the RME HDSP9632 soundcard Neither was straight-forward. Both units needed a firmware-flash.. BUT, everything went "surprisingly-well" for SG.. Then it was BEER and pictures.. Playing with lighting-ideas. Some Aquaero screen-shots: These shots where hard to get. The chrome VFD faceplate kept reflecting what little room-light there was: blurry-- This machine is "glow in the dark green".. This shot-- I just love it... Just getting-going with case lighting, lots more to-come. Case in point: After looking at a Arlen Ness paint job using green and blue...Green and Blue!! you would not (or I would not) think of using these two-colors together. BUT, somehow it just-- "works".. MY-plan is to boot up in all-green lighting and then have a few blue led's wired in (via remote switch) to add some "bling": Out of pictures and out of time Machine is FIN except for lighting.. Very-close:
you really should use a tripod when taking such pics, its impossible to keep the camera steady since the exposure time is so long during dark shots it will always come out blurry
lol modsquad, green and blue do NOT work! and has that power button got a huge lamp behind it or something? it looks like a search light...which i think is cool
i agree about the colours the front seems a bit too... overbright but the blue and green, ness can do it... its different tho, cuase its on a bike, im sure if the blue wasnt overpowering the green ti'd look better... but i just dont think its quite right... too smaller space... looking good otherwise
I did say "playing with" lighting.. I think the blue/green looks cool/different. The key IMO is to use "justa touch" of blue. Certainly I used a tripod. There would be no-way to get those pictures without one. The last picture was just-artistic.
Looks great Modsquad. I have total faith that after you play with the lighting it will look phenomenal. You haven't let us down yet. Although I would personally go with a yellow or amber I can see how a hint of blue would bring a nice contrast. If its all green it would just wash out the texture and the depth inside. A little accent lighting could do a lot
couldnt agree more tbh, with a tad of blue it would look v. nice the mixture of black, green, blue and chrome is rather nice, its just getting the balance right that will be teh challenge for you (like me trying to spell!)
modsquad, when taking pics in the dark on a tripod, I've found putting it on the timer (mine has 2 and 10 seconds so i select 2) means there is no blur or camera shake from shutter depression I think maybe using purple/uv instead of blue? Please don't take it is a critisism, it most definitely is not, but just an opinion
Sorry, I have to disagree. I can't find a picture of the AN bike I spoke of. BUT, I do have the t-shirt: good enough for arlen, good enough for me! Green skulls, hell could be the SG t-shirt.. My main purpose for the last update was just to say " I have not given up on SG". The owner is a good-fella, but I will never-again build a machine unless I have complete control of time, design and money for the project.. We are close to FIN, very close..
I agree blue and green is an awesome color mix, have you scene Project Dark Blade, he uses Blue and Green as well and it looks awesome also on my car project Im working with a blue green theme as well, so I agree with ModSquad blue green works and is totally awesome combo.
Looks good Mod Squad. Sounds like your seriously into choppers, do you own one cause I would love to see the pictures. Keep up the good work.
