Think I did :), was just about to run the benches I did on my last rig & went to reboot & while windows was loading up it froze so decided to go for the overclock so the voltages are set correct :hehe: glad I did :D.

Used the bit-tech oc guide for a quick result for the 4.5ghz, I don't think there will be a need for more than this but going off the temps I have under the megahalems I'm very sure I could go much higher if needed :thumb:.

Here are the benches I run.

    q9650 @ 3.8ghz --- 8gb ddr2 @ 900mhz 5,5,5,18 --- GTX 580
    CPC bench suite 2007

Didn't get the pause in the heaven bench.

    2500k @ 4.5ghz --- 4gb ddr3 @ 1600mhz 7,8,7,24 --- GTX 580

Got the pause in the heaven bench.

Funny how on the heaven bench I got pretty much the same score as the 775 & 3dmark11 is very similar so it looks like the gtx 580 wasn't bottle necked at all :duh: but nonetheless overall the system is improved :thumb:.

Good thing the 580 isn't bottlenecked. 3d mark 11 is really taxing on components.

It sure is especially the night time ruins part of the demo :eeek::D.

Wow how rude of me or forgetful to not add why the delay .
There was man flu (might have even been the genuine swine flu had all the symptoms) bacon buttys fixed that lmao , system upgrade hiccups & waiting for deliverys which has held this project up but with the down time I've been able to consider a few tweaks to make things better.
Yeah been waiting on bolts since just past mid December, they never came & I was being way overly patient with letting the ebayer sort this out & put in the complaint with paypal yesterday & straight after ordered with someone else for the bolts, was also waiting for some acyrlic bars 20mmx20mmx500mm for making some structure connectors & also ordered a helicoil kit & a pile of helicoils that will be good for 3mm material so I'll be able to place reliable threads in the aluminium so with a bit of luck I'll have the bolts soon & I'll be able to carry on :thumb:.

That sure sucks, I ordered some essential stuff from Aquatuning that will finish RV3N on tuesday, payed much extra for special/ next day delivery- still hasn't come though. Still, worth waiting for though.

Crapper & you paid premium for special delivery, then you should be entitled for a refund on the delivery cost :thumb:. Mines coming by standard 1st class & was free delivery so I can't complain :hehe:.

lol At least with the time out I took up Gepetto's tip from ocuk about helicoils, so anyway yeah you're right I should enjoy a bit of this new system while I have a little more down time :D, a relaxed modder is a healthy happy modder :thumb:.

Not at all mate lol :D but it drags down to about 16 fps on that night time ruins part of the bench, really is a killer bench like every 3dmark when new :D.

Thanks which one :hehe:, to be honnest since now I know clamping a piece is extremely important I found the humble jigsaw able to do a very nice job of cutting & blades can be modded for finer cuts :thumb:.

Got the needed bits to carry on so can start back up whenever which will probably be tomorrow :).
Helicoil kit, helicoil removal tool, 100 m3 helicoils for 3mm material, hex driver since it's the 2mm size I always use, aluminium case feet which I'll heavily mod, m8 countersunk, m3 countersunk bolts & m3 button head bolts, all the bolts are high tensile bolts so can't wait to start progressing again :thumb:.

I've never known a royal mail special delivery take any more than next day as long as it got posted the day before so they must be slacking on posting orders out on time, if for any reason you won't be entitled to a refund on the delivery it will be because with special delivery you only get the refund if the goods do not arrive on time so yeah either aqua tuning are being slack or they don't have the parts, or some other hiccup :sigh:.

I'll have a good update though later today :naughty: stayed up all night to fix my sleep pattern again  & started at 6am, just having a little break to warm back up, loving the sturdy helicoils, replaced quite a few threads I already made with them & fixed the back panel to the base & fixed the curved bars to the base, it would be so awesome to get the connectors made by the end of today, to be honest I might stick with my original plan of using solid square bar for the connectors since the helicoils are pretty awesome so maybe there was no need at all in getting the acrylic bar, update later :dremel::thumb:.

Sounds good Wayne, I'll be spending a full saturday sleeving my 24 pin and 6 pins. I want to get it right:rock: I won't be sleeving on a school night! Taking breaks Cheesecake!

@ I had a reply from Nitrix, what makes this whole thing even worse is what he said.
"We don't currently offer next day delivery." I never said anything to him about next day delivery, but what I'd naturally expect from paying a premium for SD is that it comes faster than 1st class, I didn't expect it next day. Even first class, it should have been here at least by monday. I sware, if it isn't here when I get home from school tomorrow; I'm not asking for a refund, I'm getting one!

Edit: God damn it I'm complaining again...

They are excellent Nate & highly recomend them :thumb:.

Good luck & take your time with the sleeving mate :thumb:.

When I bought that corsair 100% modular psu I thought it was a way around voiding the warranty :duh: but it says in the manual or somewhere in the package that even if you mod the cables it would be classed as a voided warranty :sigh: but that aint gonna stop me as I need custom length cables for this to look good & so I don't need extensions , it's a funny psu, when I tested it out to make sure it works the fan stayed still, but read up that it only starts up when under load or if it's warm, was chilly when I tested so I'll just have to hope it's ok, power levels looked ok though so I guess it's fine.

    Project is alive again

    Project is alive again .

Here's the helicoil set minus the 3.2mm drill bit, very glad I tried them out, all you do with these is drill the hole, tap it, use the question mark shape tool to put the helicoil on (it has a slit & the helicoil has a stick out bit) & you place it in the hole & turn until it sits in the thread by 0.5mm or 1mm, then you pull it out & then push in the hole with the blunt tool & shake out the bit from the helicoil & woo hoo you have a very good reliable thread :thumb:.

I put helicoils in all the corner bars, top & bottom so they are solid now.

Back panel fixed onto the base.

This is how I did it instead of messing with the drill press I used the cordless drill, clamped it in place measured & marked, did a spot drill, then a 2mm drill, then the 3.2mm drill for the helicoils so it was perfectly placed ;).

The front optical/fan plate clicks in place (nice fit) & holds without bolts but it will be bolted up.

Didn't take pictures of my attempts but started off wasting a couple of hours trying to use the disc sander, getting toasty throw it in cold water at least a hundred times D'oh, then switched to the air finger belt sander, was taking too long, then went on to vice & files & if I'd have started off with vice & files I'd have probably got them both made lol, but spent too much time on them for today so I'll do them tomorrow, anyway nice progress making up for down time I think :).

Ah & the wood piece is to keep the back panel straight, some how it is slightly curved but will be fine once the motherboard tray is made & installed :thumb:.
