:D Thanks Nutman, but really the hard part is keeping the patience to mark up correct & then with 1 of these centre drill bits makes a nice spot on start for drilling, I use it for all my drilling now & never miss the target, I find it crazy how I've barely had to use the drill press since getting that bit :thumb:.

    :D Thank you voigts :thumb:.

Thanks MP check out the drill bit pic above, they help out massively in hitting the target easier :thumb:.

:hehe: Thanks John :thumb: I must be lucky in only having it for modding :).

Ahh glad I wasn't wrong about it being a good job :D but like Cheaps said the back looks better than the front so I've sure got my work cut out to make the front as good or better :duh::D.

I really would call it an essential drill bit & it's still as sharp & pointy as the day I bought it :thumb:.

Finally got off my lazy rear & tidied, cleaned & even organised the garage so I'll be back onto it tomorrow :D.

Nice work. I'm not sure if this has been asked already, but is this entire WCing loop going to be in aluminum? Or will it have mixed metals?

Oh man. I too must now acquire one of these.

THAT is impressive stuff! I wouldn't have the patience for 1 hole, let alone dozens!

Oh it's not being water cooled, I know it probably seems a bit silly not using water cooling on a big case but yeah it's all air cooled :hehe: thanks Shadow :thumb:.

    :hehe: Thanks perplekks45 :thumb:.

Thanks IcyAero yeah I was a little worried I'd make a dogs dinner out of it but it's shaping up well :thumb:.
I look forward to seeing your mini gaming rig :D, Phinix's nano tower is a mini case that is making me want to make a mini gaming rig, looks awesome will perform awesome & all in a small case , but the 1 problem with mini-ITX for me is only 1 expansion card which means good sound card or GPU they both are needed IMO if you want a great gaming experience but naturally the GPU comes first :D, I think I'd skip mini-ITX & go for mini-ATX so I could still have both :).

You could just run the sound through an external DAC and then to speakers rather than use a soundcard. Would get much better quality sound as well. :)

Just an educated guess... but with SB wc is OTT. Also, wc isn't exactly cheap...

P.S sorry for so many 2 letter acronyms :p

The LGA1156 and SB has the same holes for heatsinks, so any block with 1156 mounting will work on SB. As for the price of WCing, the OP seems to have access to the equipment to build himself a block. He'll only need to buy the rad, pump, res, tubing, etc. Obviously, building your own block is time consuming and won't exactly come close to the performance of say a Swiftech XT but it still should be better than top end air.

What's the point though? If you aren't frying your CPU and can't get better OC with WC (true in nearly every situation with SB), then there's none, except to look good.

It's the cool factor man! A case such as this deserves WCing imo.

Oh I don't think I could ever go back to onboard audio  not even with some extra external audio hardware but it is an option, I think the first component I ever bought was a sound card & cringe at onboard audio since :hehe:, expensive audio hardware is something I'd need to sample before blindly buying :D thanks for the tip though Monkey Puzzle :thumb:.

No :p, really though I'm at 4.5ghz on a 2500k on quiet air & temps are ridiculasly awesome :D.

I think this too, it would only be needed for mad heavy overclockers :D

Thanks Ed yeah I am glad :D, seen your case in Custom PC this morning too congrats mate :thumb: awesome case .

:) Thank you Graham appreciated your rig is going to be pretty incredible :thumb:.

I just don't feel the need for WC to squeeze a few more mhz out of it, there is plenty of headroom for a higher clock than 4.5ghz but just not tried going any higher, the majority of the year in UK we get cool weather & I'm sure with me saying that we'll get a nasty heat wave this year :hehe:.

For WC to look good it needs to be designed to hold the large bits in a nice way, this case is designed with air in mind so it would be bad I'm sure :hehe:.

See above reply :D but I totally get what you're saying, water cooling can look amazing when laid out well :thumb:.

Being a keen modder though I'll almost certainly do water cooling at some point.

    :) Update

Ok so I mounted the psu & mobo for figuring out where the cable holes will go.

Drilled 10mm holes so I could get a square file in & make the holes, they look square & ugly but I have a plan for making them all very very neat but I'll save that for a later update.

Then took the bottom panel off to add the feet & was going to measure & mark but there was markings left behind from the begining of the project woo hoo :D so I opted for the points on the corners so the bolts will overlap where the corner support bars are but I chose to use countersunk bolts instead of the ones that came with the feet as I wanted them out of the way, they were way too long so I grinded them down.

    Feet on :).

So I got the wire pass holes made, shortened the curve bar supports, expanded the optical angle bar so sata data & power cables will go through both now, cut to length a perfect length wire for the cpu power & atx power as a first step of the prep for sleeving, installed the feet Bill sponsored me with.

Doesn't feel like much progress for almost a full day but progress is progress :).

Thank you for sponsoring me Bill, the feet are awesome & the Modmen show is too :D.

    Congratulations on the sponsorship! :thumb:

At work you had to make the case you deserve it!

    Congratulations!

Nice. Can you get a pic with the all (yes, all) PSU cables plugged in?
