Seriously Wayne - I have G5 cases from Apple that have WORSE hole spacing that this. Most excellent.

'Fraid so, the AX850's pins are buggers to get out. Also, DO NOT RELY ON CORSAIR RMA! I received mine with a broken cable, so I asked for a replacement in January and still am waiting...

Awesome, so I've picked 1 of the most difficult psu's to sleeve as my first lol typical :duh::D fun times ahead :D.
I won't let it scare me off though  & this is 1 of the few types of modding which can be done through the night as it's nice & quiet :).

Ahh I'm not giving up before I even try, might have an update on the sleeving in the morning hopefully :D.

Watching, hope for your sake you don't hash it up and end up without a PSU for 2 months. I hate being stuck on a laptop :(

    Yang :D

I kinda doubt I'll muck it up also I tested the PSU when I got it & all is well :thumb:.

OK time for some MDPC sleeving :D.

Being new to a full on sleeving job, a quick google here a quick goolgle there & BAM.

How to remove an ATX plug
    http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=64632

Snipped the heatshrink, cable tie & sleeving off the corsair ax850 atx cable.

Then went & gathered pliers, wire stripper, the crimping tool I got from MDPC in all it's matt black glory :D & my ridiculasly huge disposable lighter my bro bought me for christmas & isn't even half way used since christmas lol :D.

Got a paper clip straightened out & tried using it but was too thick soooo, I took it to the garage, snipped it in half & grinded it so it was nice & thin.

Tested it & it does the job of removing pins awesome, instead of pressing it against the ground I held it tight in the pliers to push it the extra needed amount, first attempt & it came out perfectly, so so much for this psu being difficult hehe :D, still though I'll need to dig out an exacto blade so I can heat it up to cut the sleeving well.

Nils awesome trademark custom cartoon picture :D.

40 metres of black sleeving for single wires & I think 10 metres of sata sleeving too, 150 pre-cut heatshrink pieces, a nice length of heatshrink, a pile of pins, a load of cable clip pieces of all the available sizes, enough sata power pass through pieces & a few sata power end pieces, that is all I think :D.

I might only do the CPU cable & the ATX cable tonight but it's on :thumb:.

I'm using the molex depinner from Nils, its 'legs' are too short :( so if I do something like you are
(truly ghetto btw :D) for depinning I'll be ok. With you all the way on custom crimping! Word of advice for double cables: do a splice (or y split). It'll keep things neater ;).
Crimp on! (Insert crimping emoticon here) I'm going for all white so if I only sleeve the stock cable it doesn't quite look right so I crimp it with white wire, custom length ofc :D

Yeah I've heared of people having minimal or no luck with the pin remover tools which is why I skipped buying 1 with the idea of making my own, but I did buy a molex pin removal tool (the 2 poles one) & just tested it out, incredibly easy :thumb:.

Just hope I'll have enough new pins, really should have bought a load :duh:.

I wasn't expecting to see joined cables on this so yeah I'll join them together before they get to the plug to keep things neat :thumb:.

Wow:hehe: it does complicate things with the ones which have 2 wires, I've done 2 wires so far , took me a while to suss out the needed length of the sleeving & took a few practices at getting the crimp spot on, I think I'm up to speed on how to do this now though :thumb:, also I found using my lighter far better to do the heat shrink, the heat gun was blowing the heatshrink all over the place :hehe:.

Silly me I thought I'd have it done & dusted by now :duh:, it was quite a learning curve but it should be straight forward now, I was begining to think I should have gone with extensions so I'm glad I persevered.

It's a PITA how they are all female ATX pins too, I don't have enough to do the complete job but I might just about have enough to do the ATX cable.

This lot took me ages to sort out, the place I bought my molex cable & fan cable mixed them together & they were a nightmare to untangle.

    My first 2 ok crimps.

My first 2 wires done, but I'll be taking these out to re do them, so I'll use the rest of the atx crimp pins to get my technique perfect, but I had to make a new order for a pile of female crimp pins & a tiny bit more sleeving & some nice black fan headers, so yeah the sleeving is back on hold for the time being, at least I'll be good & ready to go at it like I know what I'm doing when it gets here :) & yes I now realise the heat shrink should only be showing a little which is why I'll re do these to get it perfect :thumb:.

Thanks k.3nny by the time I was getting to grips with sleeving & custom legth cables I realised I aint got enough crimp pins :hehe:.

:D Thanks LooseNeutral, wow it took ages to untangle it all .

While I wait for the package from Germany I'll make the cable hole tidier pieces & if I still have time I'll start on the acrylic curve piece & all the side windows, then once the sleeving is done it'll be time for appying the finishing touches :).
