Looking good Waynio, sticky backed cardboard is also great for covering the bottom of the jigsaw, it makes it glide through the aluminium.

    :lol::D:thumb:

Nearly forgot to mention, the ac-ryan molex pass through bits came through today from performance pcs in America, ordered on the 21-mar & received today :thumb: chose the cheapest shipping method too at about $6, would have ordered a couple more bits but the shipping jumped up to about $30 :eeek:.

I went a bit overkill & bought 20, may as well since I couldn't find them anywhere over here, I've used these before & they are awesome :thumb:.

Candle wax or a good spraying of WD40 on the base plate works well.

Looking good Wayne. I know what you're trying to do with that window, but I honestly think going flush to the back of the side panel will look just as good. It'll also save you about 3 years of your life spent cutting it all out and gluing it. Plus I've seen people attempt to do what you're doing and it nearly always leaves a mark where the glue spreads under the piece being glued. It works well with solid or opaque colours but clear can be a total mare.

I don't have the tripod at hand but on the next update I'll get a pic of them :thumb:.

Nearly all of them stay in place on their own lol but I just cut a small piece of the clear & tinted acrylic & dropped a blob of the adhesive on & slapped them together, I'll see if it's a good idea in a bit once it's set, if it is bad I'll bolt them to the clear acrylic on both ends of the windows, I will for sure come up with a way to do this though, might take a few dummy runs but I'll get there :D:thumb: thanks Jeff :thumb:.

Ok so here are the ac-ryan molex pass through plugs.

And here is a sample of the light tint acrylic stuck to the 2mm clear acrylic, can't say I'm impressed really but maybe it would look better than bolts especially if I only used a faint blob on the edges of the ends of the windows, other option would be to make sure it all gets an even coat of the adhesive so it's all uniform.

Well I'm very eager to get these windows stuck but I'm gonna have to wait for the glue syringes to arrive so I can apply it better, dunking something in the glue & trying to apply it is just not gonna happen as it leaves a trail of adhesive & makes applying it a nightmare lol so instead took a few more pics of the side panel & 1 piece peeled back a bit as a teaser lol :D & it's in the best lighting possible broad daylight.

Hopefully I'll be able to continue really soon.

Nearly forgot to add the following.
Going off the testing I just done though I'll go with applying a tiny blob of the adhesive to both ends & the middle to fix the windows to a 1 piece clear acrylic internal panel that bolts on from the outside, it will give a slight imperfection to the windows but it'll look better than bolts I think :).

:) Thanks Nutman, I think I missed the postman or he didn't knock or ring again, does that regular the git  so I'll have to get to the sorting office tomorrow as they shut at 12 so can't ever get the package same day, all the money royal mail make from people & they can't keep a sorting office open for reasonable times :wallbash:, 2 packages & I bet the syringes were amongst them :duh: I don't know what to do with myself :hehe:.

    :D:thumb:

Tomorrow should see a new update :thumb:.

I'll have to stop modding when it starts getting dark, easier to get good pics in the nice daylight, it's quite hit & miss getting good pics without daylight, it's possible but usually requires taking a load of pictures with slightly different settings, so far on this kodak easyshare I've taken 3600 pics & thats all on modding :hehe:.

Diggsy on ocuk forum suggested to run a faint line of the adhesive close to the edge all along the windows so it does the job & the flaw the adhesive introduces makes it look like a shadow so I'll add that to things to test when I get the syringes for proper application.

It is incredibly tempting but I must resist until they are stuck to the other acrylic panel :D:hehe: thanks k.3nny :D.

    edit

I've found some extra settings on my camera & I think I've got it taking better pictures now :).

Here is a couple of drill bits I ordered nearly 2 weeks ago & the syringes arrived today so once my bro has got out of the garage excercising I'll be able to get started, until then check out this beast of a drill 19mm perfect for vandal switches :D
