    Thanx guys, much appriciated comments.

Connected everything what I could find, looks really messy!

Left side in the dark. Here you can see that EL tape glowing quite nice.

Overview in the dark, the EL tape is still loose, but you can allready see the glow

    emiting I mentioned before.

Like they and the others said! very interesting. I'm ambivilent about look of the pcbs, but I was amazed by the cellphone motor drill! Amazing! The other hand looks cool too. Lasers are great, are you going to have any problems with prolonged focus of the lasers? I've read of people taking laser pointers similar to that, and making them into homemade laser cutters... so be careful!
Plus, it looks like you're using the same florescent green paint as I am! It does stand out under UV, but I think those EL wires and tape will drown it out a bit.

Youre so right, the EL DOES drown it, but I guess thats another lesson learned :S

Started with the outside covers. This is one of the two rear-triangles.
After the construction-glue sets, ill tidy up the edges.

This is the replacement fan-hand, made from an old VGA-fan.

    The left side.

    Making the final adjustments.

Glued the covers to the aluminium strips on the side.

    View from the rear-left side.

Close-up of one of the gills.

To fit the large strip on the front-left side, I need to cut out a piece for the arm.

    Nice and tight fit.

When the right side is fastened, the case is starting to show its shape a lot better.

    Just picked your mod up.
Good to see you have time after the compo at BEP to continue. Really like this style.

Like I said, I made a mistake with the strips that come on top of the mod. I made them too short!

I thought of something that would not only deal with that mistake, but also give it a bit extra.
First I made some small pieces of circuitboard, that will act as supports.

Then I made these small strips from UV green plexi.

These will come here on top of the supports.

With a little glue and a clamp, set to dry.

When the lights hit the strips, they light up like a xmass tree.

And here two overview shots, now you see the size of the mod entirely.

Time to give the little beast some legs. These I make from old 2.5" harddrives. These are the discs that sit on top.

    Cut in half.

Then glued to the mod with constructiekit. ( a little bit too much here )

Three times on the left and three times on the right.

The legs are made from the actual read-write heads from those laptop-drives.

Once the kit is hardened, it should be looking a bit like this.

Agreed, but I'm wondering about proportion... do you mean to use them as the whole leg, or just as feet on a leg. (I vote for more parts obviously!)

    It's coming together very well!

True, they do look like some cool feet, but they need a leg on them. I'm guessing there will be something cool going there in that gap :naughty:

Youre so right, I intend to manufacter more substantial legs, but for now I quickly made these parts.

Ok, After reviewed the critics, I decided to make three extra limbs for the rear legs.

Now there much more in proportion.

Last to do is to connect them to the chassis and then final testing.

I just had an idea that you may like?
How about another layer of pcb on the legs, and some plexi in between? :naughty: Maybe even an led poking through the body into a cavity in this plexi, making the legs glow!
