Well my dad's friend barry found this old case in his garge andknew i was into the hwole modding thing so he gave it to me.....the who thing is made of plastic (except for chasis of course) which makes painting very easy. THE PLAN: 1: paint grey trim yellow. 2: Paint main part of case black 3: Cut windows EVERYWHERE (5/5 done) 4: Cut out extra drive racks and exess metal inside case, so u can see thro (2/2) 5: Add yellow cahtodes. 6: Add 2 intake and 1 exahust fans 7: wat ever else i can think of Heres she is: chasis without the top i pop the rivits on this thing so i could do the top window Cut out another window Half drive racks cut Put together so far how am i doing
Not to bad so far, you going to put a microATX motherboard in there? Keep up the progress as this could be an interesting mod, I like it when people take an old or totally fugly case then mod the hell out of it transforming it into something very nice, good luck with it.
Wow! Haven't seen one of those for a while. I must admit I always liked the case design of those Packard Bells... designed by Frog Design in Germany, who did a lot of Apple's stuff in the late Eighties to early Nineties, dontchaknow? I hope you're doing something special with this one. BTW: below is an example of some other stuff Frog did for Packard Bell: P.S. note the LCD screen. And this was 1991!
woha ! i remember the good old days like my old old XT server case i had from IBM i belive the date on that server was 1986 or somthing !
It's amazing that the case was made in 1991. sickskater--now you'll have to do an even better job so it looks nicer than the pic posted. P.S. hurry up with the project!
