    Graphics Card Update

First MSI GTX 570 GPU arrived in the post.

After a few hours testing I decided to remove the HSF and go water cooling.

Specialtech kindly sent me a water cooling block for my GTX570

    Off goes the cover

Now I must say that the XSPC Razor 580/570 Gpu block is one of the easiest I have ever worked with.

Within 10 mins the whole block was on

    Building the case chassis

As I said earlier, this is a MM ascension case, so I straight away sent it to be re-powder coated
as the original was to be honest shoddy work and a finger print magnet (mirror black)

Now SOME people find that there are a great many issues with MM cases, such as the lack of basic wire management proper ventilation for the psu etc. However I thought that i would build the case and the whole setup (that is components and water cooling etc) in order to evaluate this.

Came back from the powder coaters and to be honest im not too impressed. The colour I chose is a light graphite but in some parts it has an orange-peal effect.

Does anyone know how to over come this, considering this is a metallic colour and as such has a clear protective coating on top?

damn that orange peal plus this is a bad photo anyway.

By the way I had to drill a 5th centre hole (5mm) of each FOOT mount for the LED to be placed

    Building the chassis

still the powder coating is at least better than what came as standard.

ok issues so far that i need to resolve for this mm case

    No basic wire management
No intake hole for cool air into the PSU

im still not too impressed with this powder coat, however for now ill assemble the case and see how it goes that is what needs to be modded then afterwards the case will be re-powder coated.

Nice work log really looking forward to seeing this when it's done  Is one system going to be folding 24/7 with 2 extreme systems in the one box or do you have other plans??

    I obtained this from ebay

    Building the PC

Remember folks I am test building this PC until it is completed in order to find out exactly what can be done with this case:

Right first loop built (cpu loop) using the 140.3 rad

this is after thirty-six hour leak test.

No -wet or damp paper towels -all set to go

First my apologies for the lack of quality in the photos here, at the time my battery on the DSLR was charging! So i just used my handy phone camera bnleaaaaah

Previous to all this i leak tested the pump/res bays and the xspc 360mm that is going for loop 2

so all we need to do is pipe up wrap towels around all joints and off we go

    piping up for 2nd loop

    Four bitfenix PCIE cables arrived.

    Wire managment:

As you all know mountain mods cases HAVE NO WIRE MANAGEMENT AT ALL! (please feel free to nag MM to do this)

So since this is a temporary build (until I make my own wire management) good old tie clamps and cables ties will have to do.

Looking at the photo below you can understand my frustrations.

OK THE BUILD UP RESULTS MAJOR UPDATE!

As I explained through out this build, that I planned on building the whole rig up to a fully functioning system, in order to judge what can be improved upon and changed.

    Lights off:

I have not installed the 2nd motherboard as of yet, due the issues encountered i.e that one needs to manufacture a wire management system and to re-powder coat the case.

Right as you all know I like to insist on quality products.

Going through many of the usual fluids, such as various manufactures Distilled water and substitutes I finally seleted MAYHEM's Range of fluids www.mayhems.co.uk

In my opinion they seem to be innovating nicely.

So out comes my light tent and here are a few photos:D

Here we have the X1 performance fluids, the QUAD Distilled Pure H20, the PASTEL coloured fluid (this one ICE-WHITE) and finally a little of Mayhem's AURORA fluids (more on this later)

As you may have noticed and yes IT IS PEARLESCENT and this is NOT a photoshop job:d

In order to further display the pearlescent particles, I have added some red dye also from www.mayhems.co.uk

add a drop of deep blue and we get this:D

Finally the new res, Here i have added some 3mm WHITE LED lights and two SWIFTECH MCP 355 (liang DDC ULTRA equivalent)

    Koolance RES box

    The Res itself
