    Hi again,

No work the last few days, been busy. But we tested the UV light in the case last night, we had to see how the holes was doing. We dont know if we like it or not, but we thought of covering it from the back with black alu. Dont know how i will get that done, the holes is almost too near the logo.

What do you think? I will take a shot of it tonight, then you can see how it is.

i hope you you dont ever want to take that plexi off the sidepanel! Hysol is very good stuff. we use it on my school's formula SAE team and it holds anything to anything. i used it to glue an alu plate to our carbon undertray for our battery to have a place to be. just a little bit and it stands up to the rigors of weekly track beatings

    back from that tangent...

i like the plexi button panel, it looks very professional. it would be even better if you made it the hdd status light as well :thumb:

I noticed that, it looks like its gonna hold for a while ..
But what do you think about how it will look with plexi behind the vent holes?

And thanks, I thought about that, but i dont know yet. I can just make another one if I decide to make it bigger.

I would say - kill the holes! But then again.... isn't that where the side fan for the gpu is supposed to be mounted? Maybe you need to fill the top right hand side with some filer or something just to haave a small gap between the holes and the actual superman logo. You gonna have to paint it afterwards though.

Yes, its there the fan get air. But nothing to worry about there, its no big deal if i dont use it.

If i remove the pleixi behind the holes, and then mount a small piece of alu behind it and fill it with a kind of filler, i will mask the entire side of the case exept the place where in filling and repainting.

But do you think it will look ok with the finish? I mean, its not the same finish on the filler as it is on the alu from Lian Li.. Would that be a problem or will it be a to small area to notice any difference?

I saw some mods on this site where people can get the same Lian Li brushed alu effect on their cases just by sanding it correctly. How i dont know. I dont even know what they use as filler - bondo i think. Search around on the forum and see if you cant find a project log where someone did the same and see if you can do that.

Hmm , I can see if I find something useful. But if not i will just sand it up and down, and hope that its good enough. But i also have to find the exact color.
We will see about this thing, i think i will try to make something on the top panel first.
Maybe some work will be done this weekend!

    Stay Tuned.

I got a brushed effect just with sanding paper (180, 320 and 600 grit).

I've seen people use steel brushes as well, but most use only sanding papers.

What I've seen people do is use a coarse grit on a block with a straight edge to get that effect.
