I got the hardware and WC setup to early for my server project and decided after getting my 6800GT that my game rig needed WCing... started with a premod icute case, came with LED fans on side planel and front the window is rather strange, can't see why anyone thinks its good to show off they're drive bays? changed the psu cover and added a LED fan, added a 80mm fan to the CPU HS and another 80mm as an exaust much required after getting my 6800GT! WC setup begging to be installed Made a shourd from an old 120mm fan - not the best looking but does the job As my Pump kept on leaking, I applied some superglue to hold the insides together, applied lots of sillicon sealant using the blue thing and filled all the gaps using more silicon sealant and finally glue gunned everything in place and now it is finally water tight! lapping kit and lapped NB block inital res mount, with a little effort I can stick out the window for major cooling closeup with a UV 60mm-80mm duct, I quite like the look of the SHD mount for the Maze 3 (thanks Paul ) but I have a DD RBX ready to install night shot bulkheads finally arrived - 1/4 BSPP Bulkhead with 4 1/4 BSPP to 1/2 hose bulkheads sealed and built a very cheap (£1) hole drill drilling the holes for the bulkheads I'm quite happy with result, the case was much thicker than I'd thot bulkheads fitted, and looking nice
another update... Fitted a new DD RBX brass top block replacing the DD Maze 3 SHD, I need a shim I don't really trust the mountings (and yes the pink will be red eventually!) filled after bulkheads fitting night shot with bulkheads fitted night shot closup on bulkheads night shot night shot I'm going to use the ducting to hide the metal hose clips or replace them with black plastic ones & thats my res mounted behind I still have to re-add my Rad to the setup but and thinking about mouting it so I can stick it out of my window (outside temps < 10 dec C) I've left the outs from the CPU block long so I can fit my DD 6800 block, there's not going to be much room left after that. I'm getting a max temp of 47 Deg C under stress, and idle in the mid to late 30's
Nice make sure that res is shaded tho, even in cold weather it could get pretty warm in direct sunlight especially as it seems to be matt black.
yea, I want to mount it externally but its not as simple as it sounds to get 1/2 ID tubing thru a wall or window frame - that area only gets sunlight until mid day but still plan on making a wooden sunshield. And that images is misleading there's not been much sunlight here recently.
Me likes it, me takes it... Could you send me your keys with your address, so I can come and get the case, when I have time.
Fitted the duct on top of my case....I'm not sure I like the way it looks... what do you think?? would it look better painted black?
I'd leave the duct as-is. Gives the top of the case that little something that black just wouldn't do. Great work mate
yes I think I'll leave it thanks , was quite worried about mixing colours when I started. Just got my DD nV68 6800 water block - the final big part ... expect an update over the weekend
Fitting a nv-68 to my Leadtek Winfast 6800GT Got a nice package on Friday.. good build quality and impressed they included some Ceramique The heatsink / Fan on this card weighs about the same as the NV-68 and it VERY noisy Applied some Silver5 on the Proc and Ceramique on the RAM Fitted the block ready to install Wasn't easy getting the 1/2" ID Clearflex in the righ positions but finally got it installed. I still have to move my pump to its final position and after 7hours HL2/NFSU2 stress test my CPU temp went upto 55! I guess I have to get my Rad back in the loop. All in all I like this block, its reduced the db rating of my rig considerably and would recommend one to any 6800 owner!
