well i cut the backboard down to the size of the back, i will still have to fix up those two broken spots on the bottom but it should clean up fine with some wood glue and a clamp, heres the pics of the pegboard!

looks good dude, nice idea... i personally could see a nice flap opening dvd drive or similar in the space of the main large diameter speaker; perhaps lcds or control panels in the smaller speakers.. if you can see what i mean :)

yeah i understand what you mean, i was actually thinkin about just leaving the big one fora window and probly putting fans in the other holes, im going to either not have any cd drive or just going to have to make it come out the back or a side, thanks im open to any more ideas everyone, im working on the hdd mounting right now

when i did this mod i mounted everything to a piece of perspex by fitting motherboard mounting collars into it. drill a hole the same diameter as the core of the thread on them, and then screw them in slowly. Its quite discrete and a firm mount. i think the stuff i used was around 8-12mm thick.

try getting hold of a slow load cd/dvd drive, that could be better to work with.

Interesting idea! I don't think I have seen anyone put a PC in a speaker before!

maybe mount the CD-ROM centred on the large speaker hole, and mount the grill to it (of if it is a slot load cut a small slot in the grill). That way you had a CD-ROM without changing the outside frame. Alternatively, you could have it come out the side or back :D

This looks like a good idea. Don't forget about your cooling. You could use a fan there in one of the smaller, empty holes.

Two intakes near the bottom and one exhaust at the top facing out and one facing back (so the air splits, some out the front, some out the back of the speaker) would be a good working design. After all, heat rises.

Just put one big fan in the hole for the main, overclock it, and your good to go.
